The all-new 2021 Honda City Hatchback has officially been launched in the Philippines. It serves as a replacement for the Honda Jazz, which is now sold exclusively in Japan, Europe, and China.
As expected, the all-new Honda City Hatchback’s design is similar to the sedan’s. It’s only when you go further back from the B-pillars where the City hatch sets itself apart with its longer roof to accommodate the hatchback body style. The rear fascia is also slightly different, featuring a unique set of LED taillights and more rounded rear bumper.
Only one variant will be available for the City Hatchback, and that is the RS variant. This means it comes fully loaded wit 17-inch grey alloy wheels, full LED lighting all around the vehicle, along with a new color called Meteoroid Gray Metallic.
The interior is also largely the same as the City sedan’s, though the leather and suede seats feature more red highlights compared to the sedan. Because this is the RS variant, it comes fully-loaded with an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, rear aircon vents, rear power outlets, and even remote engine start. What truly sets apart the City Hatchback from the sedan is its ULTR seats, which is a feature that made the Jazz so popular in the first place. This lets owners flip up the rear seat bases or completely fold the rear and front seats flat to carry long items.
Powering the all-new 2021 Honda City Hatchback is the same 1.5-liter inline-4 DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine found in the sedan, which means it also produces 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a CVT.
As for safety, the all-new City Hatchback is equipped with electronic stability control, hill start assist, six airbags, emergency stop signal, and a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines. Thanks to all these features, the City Hatchback recently received a full 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.
The all-new 2021 Honda City Hatchback is now sale in the Philippines at all Honda Cars dealers nationwide. The sole RS variant is priced at P1,115,000 and is available in four colors, Ignite Red Metallic, the aforementioned new Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl (+P15,000), and Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, which will be available by June.
