JAC Motors Philippines recently supported young racers such as former Junior Karter of the Year Miguel Quiñones, 18 years old, who has years of experience in karting and has recently upgraded into a full-time professional auto racer.
Joining him in the prestigious Philippines Auto Cross Championship Series (PACS) held at R33 Track at San Simon, Pampanga last September 11, 2021, is Jerald M. Valdez, 19 years old, who was also into karting, slalom, gymkhana, and autocross racing.
In an effort to revive local motorsports despite the pandemic, JAC Motors Philippines joined PACS to showcase its newly-launched 2021 JAC S2 subcompact crossover SUV and highlight the car’s endurance capability, agility, power, and easy maneuverability. Even the monsoon rains did not diminish the performance of the S2 in the rainy-wet damped autocross track and with good driving performances made by teammates Miguel and Jerald. The S2 executed good lap times even when pitted against a fully-equipped BMW and Honda.
JAC Motors Philippines also supported the DRQ Motorsports Team, founded by the renowned aesthetic surgeon Dr. Ricardo Quiñones, for his participation at the Petron Blaze 100 ROK GP held at Clark International Speedway where again, racer Miguel Quiñones won several 1st and 2nd places during the 2-day event.
Coinciding the ROK GP Race, the 17th Annual Golden Wheel Awards for 2019 and 2020 were finally celebrated at the same venue in Pampanga, since the pandemic has postponed this event several times. DRQ Motorsports top driver Miguel Quiñones garnered the 2019 Junior Karter of the Year while her younger sister 15-year-old Shasha Quiñones, is the 2019 Overall Champion for the Petron Intermediate Class aside from the other special awards they received for the year 2020. This earned them a ticket to compete in the forthcoming ROK GP Finals 2021 at South Garda Karting Track in Lonato, Italy this October 13 to 18, 2021 and in October 18 to 23 in Adria International Raceway at Localita Smergoncino, Cavanella, Italy for the IAME WORLD FINALS.
