With its sporty look and high-tech features at a competitive price, the Geely Coolray immediately gained popularity as Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation’s (SGAP) pioneer model when the Geely brand was reintroduced in the Philippines 2 years ago. The Coolray has been the popular choice not only for the young but also for anyone who is looking for a sporty, cool, and fun subcompact SUV to drive for their exciting adventures with friends and family. As a testament to its popularity, the Coolray has sold around 2,690 units year-to-date (as of November) and has been leading the two-wheel drive (2WD) sub-compact SUV segment with a 35 percent market share.
Since its introduction, the Coolray has been offering five (5) exterior color options: Vermillion (Red), White, Silver, and Orange (for the Sport and Sport Limited variants only) and Blue (for the Premium and Comfort variants only). This December, Geely Philippines has added sunshine to the roster of its color options: Sunburst Gold (for Sport Limited) and Cloud Blue (for Premium and Comfort).
“The Coolray remains to be the most in-demand model in the Geely lineup and a top-seller in its segment. With the recent introduction of the Coolray Sport Limited, we are further enhancing its appeal by adding new exterior colors. Sunburst Gold will be available for the Sport Limited variant only while the Cloud Blue will be available for the Premium and Comfort variants only,” SGAP President & CEO Yosuke Nishi said.
For the recently launched Sport Limited variant, three features were added: 18-inch black turbine-inspired wheels, power tailgate with height memory adjustment, and ventilated front seats with 3-level air supply intensity which can be independently adjusted to the driver or passenger’s liking.
Under the hood, all Coolray variants, including the Sport Limited, are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct-injection engine with a 7-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission that churns out 177 hp and 255 Nm of torque.
“The additional features and color options we recently introduced for the Coolray is our way of telling everyone that we will never stop improving and bringing fun back in driving,” Nishi added.
