The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX has finally arrived in the Philippines and it serves as the pinnacle of the Ram pickup truck range. While Ford Philippines is still contemplating on whether to offer the F-150 Raptor or not, here is Ram Philippines going all out an offering its fastest and most-capable pickup truck in its lineup.
The main highlight of the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX is its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces a whopping 702 hp and 881 Nm of torque. This is all sent through an 8-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. This super truck has the ability to sprint from 0-60 mph (96 kph) in just 4.5 seconds, while its top speed is 190 kph.
It’s one thing to have such a massive gasoline engine under its hood. This is a super off-roader, and as such, it comes with all the necessary hardware that sets itself apart over the regular Ram 1500. The widened wheel arches accommodate 18-inch wheels that are wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires that are bespoke to the TRX. There’s also a heavy-duty steel front bumper, skid plates, and because this truck is so wide, U.S. regulations require the Ram 1500 TRX to have those amber LED clearance lights on its hood.
The Ram 1500 TRX is built with a new five-link independent rear suspension system that is tuned to deliver some of the best handling and ride comfort around, regardless of the road condition. It also comes with the all-new front and rear 2.6-inch Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks that are made specifically for the TRX to provide faster reaction time, exceptional damping, and heat dissipation when traveling at speed through rougher terrain.
Whereas the exterior has its aggression dialed up to 11, the interior is much more cozy and luxurious to look at. There’s a 12-inch UConnect infotainment system, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, flat-bottomed steering wheel, red suede-and-leather trimmings that can be found in areas like the plush bucket seats and shift knob, just to name a few. There are also numerous TRX badges around the interior to remind you what kind of beast you’re handling.
The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX includes unique features to support the daily activities of a truck owner and his community, such as a Multi-function Dampened Tailgate with Remote Release, 7-pin Wiring Harness, E-Locker Rear Axle, Mopar 4 Adjustable Cargo Tie-down Hooks, a deployable Mopar Bed Step, Tow Hooks, Speed-Sensitive Power Locks, and Rain-Sensitive Wipers.
In terms of safety, the Ram 1500 TRX boasts more than 100 active and passive safety features under its belt. Among these are Advanced Multistage Front Air Bags, Supplement Side Airbags, LATCH-ready Child Seat Anchor System, Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection, Brake Assist, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Full Speed Forward Collision Warning, Parksense Front/Rear Park Assist, a Surround View Camera System, and a Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System.
