2023 Honda HR-V RS, Another Mystery Model To Debut At PIMS

The 2023 Honda HR-V RS, along with a new mystery model will make its debut at the Philippine International Motor Show on September 15.

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is gearing up for its participation at the upcoming 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) this September 15-18, and it has quite a lot in store for the public. The Japanese automaker has confirmed the arrival of the new 2023 Honda HR-V RS, which will now serve as the top-of-the-line variant of its subcompact crossover SUV. There is also another surprise vehicle to debut at the motor show as well.

Missing from the HR-V lineup all this time was a sporty RS variant, but customers looking for a sportier and more dynamic subcompact crossover will now have a sigh of relief. The 2023 Honda HR-V RS comes with a raft of exterior enhancements, such as a mesh grille, a red “amp up” accent on the lower bumper, black contrasting roof, as well as larger 18-inch wheels.

While Philippine specs have not been announced yet, the HR-V RS in other markets (such as the Indonesian model shown here) comes with amenities such as a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable driver’s seat, powered tailgate, Honda’s LaneWatch blind spot camera among other luxury features. Of course, the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assist tech which2023 Honda HR-V RS, Another Mystery Model To Debut At PIMS consists of automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control, will also be offered in this variant.

What has been confirmed is the powertrain. The HR-V RS will get the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine from the Civic range and HR-V V Turbo. This means it should produce the same 177 hp and 240 Nm of torque. This drives the front wheels via a CVT.

More importantly, HCPI will also use the 8th PIMS as a venue to debut an all-new model exclusively at the show. It’s a model that has never before been seen in the Philippine market. Our hunch is that this could be the Honda e, considering that the Philippines is finally on board with electric vehicles (EVs). It could possibly be the upcoming 2023 Honda Civic Type R, but your guesses are just as good as ours at this point. In addition, the 8th PIMS will also be the venue for the official Philippine debut of the accessorized versions of the City 1.5 CVT and Civic RS Turbo CVT.

HCPI will present the capabilities of its advanced technology platform, Honda Connect. This upcoming technology aims to provide safety, security, and convenience through smartphone connectivity. The platform serves as a personal assistant connected to the vehicle, further enhancing the Honda ownership experience.

Customers are also in for a treat with freebies, additional and exclusive cash discounts, free 1-year maintenance for on-site reservations on top of the existing promos, and up to 50% discount on select accessories. These offers are available only at the Honda exhibit during the motor show. Fun for the whole family is also on hand through a wide array of activities especially prepared for them. Visitors can also win prizes through onsite lucky draws and activities from the official Honda Cars Philippines Facebook page.

Visit the Honda exhibit at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show on September 15 to 18, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Tickets are available at the venue for P200 each, but the first 1,000 ticket buyers will get a 50% discount every show day.
