After making its global debut earlier this year, the updated 2023 Lexus UX is now available in the Philippines. The two variants that were launched today are both the UX 250h, which means that your gateway to the Lexus brand is now a hybrid.
The two variants to be sold are the UX 250h Premier and UX 250h F Sport. For the 2023 update, Lexus has decided to add 20 more weld spots to increase the UX’s rigidity. In addition to the recalibrated electric power steering and shocks, the facelifted UX promises to offer sharper steering, improved handling, and a more comfortable ride. Aesthetically, however, the two variants look similar to the outgoing model, though the new Premier variant gets bigger 18-inch wheels, while standard exterior features include full LED lighting, and a hands-free powered tailgate, just to name a few.
Inside, the 2023 Lexus UX remains mostly unchanged except for the car’s electronics. That’s because the UX has now ditched the brand’s Remote Touch touchpad-based infotainment in favor of the new Lexus Interface touchscreen-based infotainment system that’s housed as standard in a 12.3-inch screen. The center console has also been slightly revised for increased practicality since it doesn’t need to accommodate a touchpad anymore. Oh, and wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a new voice assistant come as standard in the new infotainment system, as well as over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Some of the other features that the 2023 Lexus UX gets include power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, seat heating, and a 10-speaker audio system. Splurging for the UX 250h F Sport adds sports seats, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, paddle shifters, adaptive variable suspension, along with a host of F Sport-exclusive interior trim pieces.
As mentioned, the 2023 Lexus UX is now entirely offered as a hybrid, which means you get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that’s mated to an electric motor. This has a total system output of 181 hp and 300 Nm of torque, and this is mated to an e-CVT. The next-generation batteries come with an 8-year/unlimited mileage warranty for peace of mind.
The entire Lexus UX range comes with a host of advanced safety features such as a reverse camera and blind spot warning with rear cross traffic alert. Splurging for the F Sport variant, however, adds the Lexus Safety Sysem+ suite, which includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System (PCS) with pedestrian detection, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Alert and Steering Assist, Lane Trace Assist, and Adaptive High-beam System (AHS).
The 2023 Lexus UX 250h range can now be viewed at Lexus Manila with the following prices:
- UX 250h Premier: P3,058,000
- UX250 F Sport: P3,798,000
