The facelifted Mercedes-Benz E-Class made its Philippine arrival earlier this year in sporty AMG Line guise. Now, there’s a new, more elegant variant that also manages to cost slightly less than the AMG Line. Say hello to the 2023 Mercedes-Benz E 200 Avantgarde, which retails for a cool P5,290,000–P100,000 less than the AMG Line.
With a focus on a more elegant aesthetic, the E-Class Avantgarde comes with more chrome details surrounding the grille and window line. You also get 19-inch 10-spoke silver alloy wheels, along with other exterior equipment such as soft-closing doors, adaptive LED headlights, and a number of advanced driver-assistance tech such as automatic emergency braking, Active Park Assist self-parking, and driver attention monitor.
Inside, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz E 200 Avantgarde comes with a pair of 12.3-inch screens, one for the driver and the other being the main screen for the MBUX infotainment system. This comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Burmester surround sound system. Elsewhere, the interior comes with Artico synthetic leather upholstery, silver and open-pore black wood trims, 64-color ambient lighting, just to name a few.
As the E 200 nomenclature denotes, this Avantgarde variant comes with the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine as the AMG Line model, which produces 197 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels via a nine-speed automatic. With this engine, 0-100 kph happens in 7.4 seconds.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz E 200 Avantgarde is now available at all Mercedes-Benz dealers nationwide. As a reminder, the E 200 AMG Line retails for P5,390,000, which should make this new Avantgarde model an attractive option for those who want an E-Class for a little less money.
