Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has officially announced that it is now accepting pre-orders for the next-generation BR-V. Previewed earlier this year at the 2022 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), the 2023 Honda BR-V is completely new from the ground up, and it will offer more practicality, a better drive, and more tech compared to the outgoing model.
Three variants have been confirmed to make their availability soon: S, V, and VX. HCPI also revealed a few of the BR-V’s specs, in which the base S comes with fabric upholstery while the V and VX get the benefit of leather seats. HCPI is also particularly proud to highlight that the BR-V now comes with height adjustment for the seats as well as steering wheel reach adjustment–both of which were missing from the previous generation.
Externally, all 2023 Honda BR-V models are confirmed to come with 17-inch wheels. That’s about it in terms of features, but the model that was displayed at PIMS featured LED headlights, smart entry with push-button start, and even a forward-facing camera that indicates that the BR-V comes with the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assistance tech. The latter features have not been confirmed, and this is just pure speculation based on the model that was displayed at the show.
As for engines (or engine rather), the 2023 Honda BR-V is still powered by a 1.5-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine that produces 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque. This is then mated to either a manual or a CVT. Of note is the base S, which is the only variant that is available with a manual.
The 2023 Honda BR-V is now available for pre-order, while its official launch is on November 21, 2022.
