2023 Subaru Forester Now Comes With Facial Recognition In PH

The 2023 Subaru Forester now comes with facial recognition, while both the Forester and XV benefit from other added features.

Motor Image Pilipinas, the distributor of Subaru in the Philippines, has given the facelifted Forester an update for 2023. First making its debut at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show, the 2023 Subaru Forester comes with a number of equipment upgrades that should make it one of the most cutting-edge in terms of technology.

To be precise, the 2023 Subaru Forester now benefits from the Driver Monitoring System (DMS). As part of the newest EyeSight 4.0 advanced driver-assistance tech that we’ve both experienced in the new Subaru Outback, DMS uses an infrared facial recognition sensor to track the head and eye movements of the driver for signs of distracted driving or drowsiness. Not only that, but DMS also ties into the car’s settings. Instead of just the usual two-person memory settings, DMS also allows vehicle settings such as the seats, mirrors, and infotainment to be linked to the driver’s face.

As a reminder, EyeSight 4.0 now uses a wider-angle camera that’s now flushed into the windshield for a better view of the road ahead. EyeSight 4.0 enables the Forester to benefit from true Level 2 autonomous driving tech, such as full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automatic emergency braking with evasive steering assist, just to name a few.

Apart from DMS, the new Forester also benefits from a tire pressure monitoring system and engine start-stop that shuts off the engine when you’re idle for a few seconds. You’d be happy to know that these features are also being added to the 2023 model year XV.

With these updates, you might expect a price increase for these two Subarus, but actually, the complete opposite is what happened. The 2023 Subaru Forester and XV come with these promos and packages until the end of the year.

Subaru XV 2.0 i-S EyeSight CVT: P1,908,000

  • P240,000 Savings
  • Free Tire Repair Kit

Subaru Forester 2.0 i-S EyeSight CVT: P2,168,000

  • P40,000 Savings
  • Free Tire Repair Kit
  • Free Christmas Gift – Blaupunkt DVR 7.1 Recorder Front and Rear Facing Camera

With the festive season in full swing, Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP) will also spread more joy and bring more sparkle with every XV sold:

  • P1,000 will be donated by MIP for every Subaru XV sold this December 2022 – beneficiary will be the Rehoboth Sampaloc Ministries Children’s Foundation in partnership with Subaru Society.
