BMW M’s first wagon since the M5 Touring (E60 generation) has finally arrived in the ASEAN region through the 2023 Singapore Motor Show. The 2023 BMW M3 Touring is also the first wagon model of the M3 through its 37-year history.
Going on sale today first in Singapore, the 2023 BMW M3 TouringĀ is pretty much what you expect from the wagon version of the M3 sedan. That bucktooth grille is still there, but almost all is forgiven because the M3 in wagon form just looks so good. The usual M bits are there, such as the wider fenders, quad exhausts, M aerodynamic mirrors, and a set of staggered wheels with those at the front measuring 19 inches and the rear ones at 20 inches.
The interior is also likewise your standard fare for the M3, which means it follows the footsteps of the 2023 update that brings with it a revised dash design. The iDrive 8 that debuted in the iX electric SUV has also made its way to the M3 Touring, while BMW is proud to highlight that the M3 Touring is the most practical M3 ever. With all the seats folded, BMW claims that the M3 Touring is capable of offering 1,510 liters of space. Why do you even need a crossover SUV in the first place?
The 2023 BMW M3 Touring will only be available globally in Competition form, which means it uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six that produces 503 hp and 650 Nm of torque. As with every new M car, this engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic, and in the case of the M3 Touring, this provides power to an M xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system. This enables the M3 Touring Competition to sprint from 0-100 kph in just 3.6 seconds, all the way to a top speed of 280 kph.
The new M3 Touring will be sold in Singapore for SG$ 560,888 (around PHP 23,329,406). You have to remember that as a small country the size of Metro Manila, car ownership is heavily taxed and regulated by the government, hence the high price tag. For reference, the M3 Competition sedan is sold in the Philippines at a little under P10 million. BMW Philippines will most likely offer the M3 Competition Touring via indent order.
