The current generation Hyundai Elantra was first unveiled at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and three years later, it seems that the South Korean automaker is ready to give it a facelift this quickly. Say hello to the 2024 Hyundai Elantra, which maintains its sharp design but with a bit more finesse to make it look sleeker.
For this update, Hyundai concentrated on refining the front end of the Elantra (called the Avante in South Korea). With the redesigned front, the grille now has a slimmer shape with the larger lower air intake positioned below it. Flanking the middle air intake are two side vents that are more of a decorative piece rather than something functional, but they still make the Elantra look sharper and more handsome.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, but the rear fascia receives a few changes. There’s a new rear bumper with an increased amount of black plastic, a faux rear diffuser design, as well as slightly revised full-width LED taillights that now integrate a black trim piece to its design. Overall, the changes are subtle but noticeable, and they all work together to make the 2024 Hyundai Elantra look sharper.
Up next is the interior. Only one interior photo has been provided, and it seems that the changes are very minor. There are still two screens housed in a single glass panel–one being the instrument cluster and the other as the main infotainment screen. Hyundai has also used premium materials for this interior, but whether there are any trim changes is still unknown up to this point.
Depending on the market, the 2024 Hyundai Elantra can be fitted with a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter gasoline engine that’s mated to a CVT, and there’s also a 1.6-liter hybrid variant that’s available. For those who want performance, a high-performance Hyundai Elantra N is also available, and this can be fitted with a dual-clutch automatic or a 6-speed manual.
More details will be revealed about the new Elantra soon, but considering that the pre-facelifted model was never offered in the Philippines, there’s a high chance that this situation won’t change anytime soon.
