Peugeot Philippines used the 2023 Manila International Auto Show as a venue to add more affordable variants of the 3008 and 5008. Called the Active, this variant sits below the top trim Allure variants of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, and they effectively lower the entry price of these two crossover SUVs.
Of course, in order to achieve that price, some concessions have to be made in terms of features. On the outside, the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 Active variants come with partial LED headlights and taillights, though their alloy wheels from the Allure remain the same. The gloss black door handles and mirrors have also been replaced in favor of body-colored ones.
As for their interiors, the Active variants get fabric seats and an 8-inch infotainment instead of the 10-inch touchscreen with navigation, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are still offered. Say goodbye as well to the wireless charging pad, ambient LED lighting, lane keeping assist, and blind spot warning. Though this wasn’t mentioned, it seems that both models still keep the hands-free powered tailgate as well.
At least in terms of the engine, it still remains the same as the Allure variants. This means it gets a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder that produces 165 hp and 240 Nm of torque, which drives the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic.
Peugeot Philippines also used the 2023 Manila International Auto Show as a venue to announce their aftersales improvements. Stellantis, the parent company of Peugeot, has accredited Eurorepar Car Service as its supplier for maintenance parts beginning the first quarter of this year. With Eurorepar’s proven reliability and full range of replacement parts, Peugeot owners with out-of-warranty vehicles now have an option for more reasonably priced parts and can continue to enjoy the French automaker’s service at authorized service centers.
In addition, new vehicles purchased will come with one-year free emergency roadside assistance supported by Ibero Asistencia, a global provider of roadside assistance services.
