The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), the official Chevrolet distributor in the Philippines, has chosen the fourth of July to launch the new Trax–coinciding with the Independence Day of the United States of America. The 2024 Chevrolet Trax has been redesigned from the ground up with three variants on sale: LT, Redline, and RS.
The sleek new looks of the Trax are complemented by full LED lighting across all three variants, but splurging for the Redline and RS adds a bit of style to its design with its gloss black mirrors, larger 18-inch wheels (black for the Redline and two-tone for the RS), and a powered tailgate. Exclusive to the RS is a sunroof. Whichever variant you choose, though, the Trax is significantly bigger than the model it replaces, now coming at around 4.5 meters long with a 2.7-meter-long wheelbase.
Complementing the increased dimensions is likewise a larger interior that’s also been completely redesigned from the previous Trax. The sculpted dash and two gloss black surfaces surrounding the instrument cluster and infotainment screen also contribute to its modern design. The Redline and RS variants even benefit from red accents on the dash, while these two variants also benefit from an 8-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11-inch version of the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. Leather seats are standard across all variants, but only the Redline and RS get a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Furthermore, a wireless charging pad is exclusive to the RS.
A 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine resides under the hood of the 2024 Chevrolet Trax, providing 137 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Lastly, there’s a MacPherson strut suspension up front and a torsion beam rear suspension at the rear.
Chevrolet has also equipped the Trax with a decent suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) as standard, namely automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and automatic high beams, just to name a few. Adaptive cruise control and blind spot warning are not included in the list of ADAS, though.
The new 2024 Chevrolet Trax is now available across all dealerships nationwide at the following prices:
- LT: P1,793,888
- Redline: P1,866,888
- RS: P1,948,888
