Jaecoo Philippines has yet again teased its first model that will arrive in the Philippines in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2023. The Jaecoo 7 is a compact crossover SUV that is underpinned by the Chery International T1X platform that’s also utilized by the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro. While you’ve already seen the outside numerous times, this is the most comprehensive look yet at its interior features.
As with most modern cars nowadays, the Jaecoo 7 has an interior that’s dominated by two screens, one for the digital gauges and the main infotainment screen. The main infotainment screen is particularly impressive, measuring 14.8 inches in size, and has a high-resolution display. It doesn’t look great, but it also has a powerful brain to back it up.
Powering the software architecture of the Jaecoo 7 is the Qualcomm 8155 flagship chipset that makes vehicle operation smooth, achieving faster response of vehicle functions such as navigation, music playback, and voice control. The Jaecoo 7 also comes with a windshield-projecting head-up display and 64-color “rhythmic” ambient LED lighting, which probably means that the lights can be in sync with the music that’s being played through the speakers.
Some of the other tech highlights of the Jaecoo 7 include its so-called 540-degree camera system that combines the 360-degree camera with a camera feed that displays what’s under the car, along with a feature they call ARDIS. ARDIS stands for All-Road Drive Intelligent System, which is their marketing term for a drive mode selector that allows the vehicle to adjust various parameters depending on the driving scenario or the driver’s preferences.
As a recap, the Jaecoo 7 measures 4,451 mm long and with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The Jaecoo 7 also has a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that produces 197 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. Jaecoo Philippines has also revealed that it’s able to spring from 0-100 kph in just 8.9 seconds, yet is capable of achieving a mixed city and highway fuel economy figure of 13 km/l. By 2024, however, Jaecoo has confirmed that its model range will become hybrid and fully electric.
