Next-Generation 2024 Toyota Alphard Is Now In PH For P4.980M

The new 2024 Toyota Alphard has finally arrived in the Philippines, bringing with it unparalleled luxury and comfort among MPVs.

The folks at Toyota Motor Philippines are indeed running on caffeine at the moment. It seems their current mantra as of the moment is “What is tulog?”, because of the back-to-back launches they’ve done for the past two months or so. From the new Zenix to the Yaris Cross, and now the 2024 Toyota Alphard. This is the fourth new car they’ve launched (albeit a quiet one for this model) in just a span of a little over two months. Crazy, right?

So, what do you get in the next-generation Alphard? A lot more luxury, of course! The front grille of the 2024 Toyota Alphard is bigger than ever, but at least the grille is now more integrated into the rest of the car’s design. The side profile contains a Z-shaped window line that serves as the most distinct design feature of the Alphard. Sculpted front fenders and a line that flows from the windows to the rear fascia give the rear end of the MPV a lot of character. At the rear, there’s a wing-shaped fascia with wing-shaped LED taillights.

Inside, the 2024 Toyota Alphard is indeed luxurious with premium materials, primarily in black leather, while tech comes courtesy of a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There’s also a 15-speaker JBL sound system, and of course, those lovely second-row captain’s chairs with built-in touch screens that house the seat’s controls. Toyota is also proud to highlight that the Alphard has a so-called “Super-Long Overhead Console”.

By relocating all of the aircon vents, the ambient LED lighting, personal reading lights, and most of the controls for the sunshades and the sunroof to the middle of the roof, Toyota has created an intuitive space that brings easy access to controls as well as creating a two-piece sunroof for each of the two captain’s chairs at the second row.

Now riding on the TNGA-K platform, the new Alphard comes with MacPherson strut front suspension and independent double-wishbone rear suspension at the rear. Straight rockers and a V-shaped brace at the rear end of the structure improve the Alphard’s rigidity by 50 percent, while the Vellfire gets an additional Front Performance Brace and unique suspension tuning, which is in line with this model’s sportier orientation. Toyota also spent a lot of effort in making the cabin as quiet as being in the middle of a forest, while added special adhesives have resulted in a 30 percent reduction in vibrations.

Unfortunately, if you want the smoothness of the V6, then you’re out of luck. Your only option is for the Philippine market is a 2.5-liter hybrid drivetrain that produces a system output of 247 horsepower. This drives the front wheels via an e-CVT, and just like the Yaris Cross, the Alphard is now wearing the new “Beyond Zero” carbon neutrality badge.

Toyota Safety Sense is also standard in the Alphard, and this includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System, Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beam, and even Adaptive High Beam System for the LED headlights–a first for Toyota in the Philippines. This comes on top of blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera system.

The 2024 Toyota Alphard is still made in Japan, in which the Inabe Plant in Japan will have a production output of 8,500 units per month. Prices start at P4,980,000, but opting for the Precious Metal and Platinum White Pearl Mica paint options will add P20,000 to the base price, bringing it at exactly P5,000,000.
