Facelifted 2025 BMW M4 Debuts, Now Produces Up To 523 HP

The 2025 BMW M4 has just been revealed, receiving a mid-cycle facelift that also gives it a slight power bump.

We all know how great the BMW M4 has been and is always going to be, but four years after it made its global debut, BMW isn’t going to rest on its laurels and let the competition eat into its dominance. That’s why we now have the upcoming 2025 BMW M4, which introduces a mid-cycle facelift (or Life Cycle Impulse in BMW’s speak) for the benchmark high-performance sports coupe.

Unsurprisingly, as with BMW’s usual LCI updates, the M4’s new design flourishes are minor, albeit one you’ll still notice. If you were expecting BMW to redesign its beaver tooth grille, well, I’ve got bad news for you. On the upside, there’s a pair of new LED headlights with a new arrowhead design for the LED daytime running lights. Those aren’t just aesthetically new because BMW is keen to highlight that both the low and high beams have now been incorporated into one single module.

Changes to the M4’s rear end are also limited to a new set of laser taillights, which are straight out of the limited edition M4 CSL. While they do look good, these are going to be an optional extra depending on the country you live in. Finally, there’s a new bright silver finish for the M forged light alloy wheels on top of the standard two-tone finish.

Likewise, the interior changes to the 2025 BMW M4 are very minor. While the overall dash looks similar, it now incorporates BMW’s curved display, which houses a 12.3-inch driver’s display and a 14.9-inch main infotainment screen. This is powered by BMW’s latest iDrive 8.5, which is a software update from iDrive 8. There’s also a new design for the steering wheel, which now comes with a flat bottom, new spokes, a red strip at the top of the rim, and the option to swap the leather for Alcantara. Finally, there are new color and trim options that buyers can choose from, including a finer grain Sensatec upholstery for the dash.

What you’re probably keen to find out are the performance upgrades that BMW has implemented in the 2025 M4. Unfortunately, depending on the variant, you probably won’t receive any, and if the Philippine market is any indication, the power upgrades won’t be felt, either.

That’s because the upgraded 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six is only limited to the M4 Competition with the M xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which receives a power bump from 503 horses to 523 horses, while torque is the same at 650 Nm. Despite the power bump the M4 Competition xDrive Coupe and Convertible have the same 0-100 kph time as before, which is at 3.5 and 3.7 seconds, respectively.

On the other hand, the rear-wheel drive (RWD) M4 Competition continues to make do with 503 horses and 650 Nm, and this is what is currently sold in the Philippines. The standard M4 still produces 473 horsepower and 550 Nm, but this variant isn’t sold in the Philippines. An eight-speed automatic is standard across all variants, but the standard M4 can be optioned with a six-speed manual.

Production of the 2025 M4 in March of this year, which means that the new M4 will probably arrive in the Philippines by the middle of this year or near the end of 2024.
