A year after the launch of the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid, the second electrified model of the Suzuki range, the XL7, is now on sale in the Philippines starting today. The 2024 Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is the rugged, crossover version of the Ertiga, and its major highlight for this year is its new, electrified drivetrain.

Though, while it’s called a “hybrid”, the XL7–like the Ertiga, is actually a mild hybrid. And not exactly a strong mild hybrid at that because the engine is merely augmented by a 12-volt integrated starter generator (ISG) and a lithium-ion battery. Despite the electrification assistance, its total output is still the same as the outgoing non-hybrid model at 105 hp and 138 Nm of torque. This is mated to either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual.
Because the ISG doesn’t directly power the wheels, unlike in the Mazda CX-60 and CX-90, which are also merely mild hybrids, the XL7 Hybrid won’t benefit from the coding exemptions from the DOE.

Apart from the new, electrified drivetrain, the 2024 Suzuki XL7 Hybrid also comes with a few updates in terms of aesthetics and features. Externally, the XL7 Hybrid now comes with a new chrome front grille, while a black contrasting roof is now available as a P10,000 optional extra (it’s actually a separate variant called XL7 GLX Two Tone). Apart from the new grille and two-tone paint option, the LED headlights, roof rails, 16-inch alloy wheels, and black body cladding remain unchanged for this year.

Inside, the new XL7 Hybrid retains the familiar dash design of before but now comes with the addition of more silver accents on the dash that are complemented by a faux woodgrain panel. There is also a new set of gauges, which are now in blue to showcase its electrified drivetrain. Finally, there’s a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Suzuki Philippines has also upgraded the list of safety and driver convenience features to the 2024 XL7, and this comes in the form of cruise control. This comes on top of hill start assist, electronic stability control, and a reverse camera.

The 2024 Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is now on sale in the Philippines for P1,252,000 (+P10,000 for the black contrasting roof option), but until March 31, the Japanese automaker is throwing in a P50,000 discount from the total SRP for cash and bank P.O. transactions or a discounted downpayment for financing.
