The facelifted 2024 Mazda CX-5 is now in the Philippines, but you’re probably wondering, didn’t we already get the facelifted CX-5 before? Well, yes, you’re right! But that was limited to the AWD Turbo variant that’s sourced from Japan. The facelift didn’t carry over to the lower variants as these are sourced from Malaysia, but now, the entire CX-5 range has received the mid-cycle facelift.

Receiving the mid-cycle facelift are the 2.0 2WD Sport and the 2.5 AWD Sport (as shown). Both models get a restyled grille, front bumpers, and new LED headlights. Moving towards the back, it also gets a redesigned powered tailgate with new LED taillights. Where the two variants differ is with the body cladding, in which these models have the usual matte black cladding versus the ones in the AWD Turbo which are body-colored. The 2WD Sport also gets silver 17-inch wheels while the AWD Sport gets two-tone 19-inch wheels.

Inside, the 2024 Mazda CX-5 2WD Sport and AWD Sport also receive a few aesthetic and tech updates. The 7-inch partly digital gauge cluster gets new graphics for the drive modes, while an enlarged 8-inch screen for the first-generation Mazda Connect infotainment has been implemented. All models also get leather upholstery with orange stitching, power adjustment for the front seats, and a Bose sound system. The 2.5 AWD Turbo then benefits from ventilated front seats.

Powertrain options for the two CX-5 models are unchanged. The 2.0-liter engine still produces 155 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, while the 2.5-liter engine still produces 190 horsepower and 252 Nm of torque. A six-speed automatic is your only transmission choice while AWD as mentioned is offered only in the 2.5-liter engine.
The new 2024 Mazda CX-5 also comes with a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems branded as i-Activsense. In the case of the 2WD Sport and AWD Sport, it comes with blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera. Stuff like the automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control, remain to be exclusive in the AWD Turbo.
Prices for the new 2024 Mazda CX-5 start at P1,950,000 for the 2.0 2WD Sport, while the 2.5 AWD Turbo retails for P2,050,000. The range-topping AWD Turbo still retails for P2,430,000.
