2024 Ford Territory Titanium Review

As I roamed the streets of both Cavite and the Metro, it became clear that the Ford Territory was becoming a common sight. This observation sparked a curiosity in me—was its popularity due to it being an outstanding vehicle, or was it just riding on the hype train? Initially, I found myself on the fence, pondering if the 2024 Ford Territory was genuinely worth the attention it was getting, or if it was just another car that people bought because of a trending status. 

This led me on a journey to discover what lies beneath the surface of one of Ford’s most talked-about cars in the country. With a mix of skepticism and intrigue, I decided it was time to take a closer look and see for myself what the 2024 Ford Territory Titanium had to offer.

Exterior

On the outside, the Territory carries a design that strikes a fine balance between modern elegance and robustness—a feature that does not go unnoticed. Its sleek lines and bold stance make it a head-turner, whether parked or in motion. I really love the new Territory’s design, and I found it to be a huge upgrade to its previous look (its old model looked too chunky for my liking). The LED headlights and taillights not only enhance its sophisticated look but also provide excellent visibility, a detail I greatly appreciate during my late-night drives. 

Interior

Stepping inside, the 2024 Ford Territory Titanium reveals an interior that’s equally compelling. It’s like stepping into a different world—a quiet, comfortable cabin with a tasteful blend of technology and luxury. I initially found it to be a little more on the “boring side” of interiors, but thankfully there were wood-like trims around the car that added a bit of character to it. The 12-inch infotainment screen, paired with a digital instrument cluster, brings a modern touch that tech enthusiasts would love. Additionally, one of my favorite things that Ford did here is the amount of physical buttons and switches on the car. The wireless charger, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are the cherries on top, making connectivity seamless.

Performance

In terms of performance, the 2024 Ford Territory Titanium doesn’t just talk the talk; it walks the walk. Under the hood, the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine offers a respectable 158 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque, which translates to a drive that’s both eager and smooth. This power is well-complemented by its seven-speed automatic transmission, although I noticed it could be a bit sluggish ‌when not in Sport mode, especially in stop-and-go traffic. Despite this, the overall driving experience remains enjoyable, with the Territory showing off its agility and comfort in equal measure. The fully independent suspension ensures a ride quality that’s hard to fault, making even the most mundane errands feel like less of a chore.

Fuel economy, on the other hand, is where the Territory shows room for improvement. Achieving 8 to 8.5 km/L in the city isn’t groundbreaking, but it’s reasonable for a vehicle of its size and power. On highway drives, the efficiency does pick up, which is a saving grace for those who venture out of the city limits. The array of features, including the 360-degree camera, provides an added layer of convenience and safety, which, while not revolutionary, certainly adds to the Territory’s value proposition.

Recently, when I had the new Territory, I went on a special getaway with my girlfriend, opting for a drive to Sonya’s Garden in Tagaytay. This is a place that is also worth visiting, especially now during the Holy Week. The journey itself became a highlight, thanks to the Ford Territory Titanium. Its sophisticated interior and intuitive tech features created a perfect backdrop for our romantic escape. The spacious and plush seating ensured our comfort throughout the drive, proving that the Territory is not just a vehicle for travel, but a catalyst for creating memorable experiences. This trip was a testament to how the new Territory Titanium seamlessly blends practicality with moments of joy, making it an ideal companion for life’s special occasions.

Verdict

Rating the Ford Territory Titanium, I’d confidently give it a solid 8.5 out of 10. It’s not perfect, with the transmission responsiveness, lack of features (missing features that are all present on the Titanium X variant), and fuel economy being areas that could use some polishing. However, considering its price point of around ₱1,335,000, the value it offers is reasonable. It strikes an appealing balance between luxury, technology, and practicality, making it a strong contender in its segment. 

To sum up, the 2024 Ford Territory Titanium may not tick every single box for the most discerning of car enthusiasts, but it does tick MOST boxes, in the first place. It offers a well-rounded package that’s hard to overlook. Whether it’s for daily commutes, special occasions like going on a date, or simply enjoying the pleasure of driving, the Territory proves to be a reliable, stylish, and enjoyable car to have.
