Facelifted Honda City Hatchback Arriving In PH On June 14, To Start At P1.194M

About a year after the facelifted Honda City sedan’s arrival in the Philippines, the hatchback version is finally on its way here. Specifically, the facelifted Honda City hatchback is going to be launched on June 14, with reservations already open for the best-selling subcompact hatch in the Philippines. Here are a few things that Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has confirmed about the City hatchback.

HCPI confirms that like the sedan, the hatchback version is also equipped with the full Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). This includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning, and Lead Car Departure Notification.

What hasn’t been confirmed is what engine the City hatchback will get, but if past trends are any indicator, then we won’t be surprised if it still gets the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC gasoline engine as the sedan. This engine produces 120 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, sending power to the front wheels via a CVT. 

Styling-wise, the facelifted Honda City hatchback echoes the design of the facelifted sedan. This means you get a slight redesign for the mesh grille, along with a redesigned front and rear bumper. Just as before, the City hatch will only be available in range-topping RS variant, which in the hatchback’s case comes with black 16-inch wheels.

Likewise, the interior’s updates mirror that of the sedan, in which the City hatch benefits from new software for the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that allows for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Furthermore, the interior maintains its reputation for flexibility through its ULTR rear seats. Speaking of the seats, the interior is upholstered in a combination of suede and synthetic leather.

HCPI has also revealed “image pricing” for the facelifted Honda City hatchback, which is at P1,194,000. If you reserve yours today until June 13, the P5,000 reservation fee will be waived.
