Mercedes-Benz Philippines has officially launched the EQE SUV, the electric luxury SUV that has the same name as the EQE sedan that arrived in the Philippines last year. The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, as the name suggests, is sort of the E-Class or GLE of the EQ range of electric vehicles, and it rides on a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) platform that’s also used by the EQE sedan, EQS sedan, and EQS SUV.

What’s also shared with those vehicles is the styling–for better or worse. At this point, the EQE and EQS in both sedan and SUV forms are so similar in styling, that they pretty much seem to be merely medium and large versions of each other. Nevertheless, what we get in the Philippines is the EQE 350+ AMG Line, which means that a sporty exterior design comes as standard.
The sporty front and rear bumpers are matched with a wing-shaped grille that features a pattern that’s made out of tiny Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star logos., while on the sides, the EQE SUV comes with flushed door handles and a set of 21-inch multi-spoke wheels. Finally, the rear end of the EQE SUV has a sloped roofline that contributes to its sleek shape, but also excellent aerodynamics that helps this electric SUV offer plenty of range.

Moving inside the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, it’s no surprise that its interior design is also shared with the EQ models. The 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen is offered as standard, in which it consists of three screens housed in a single glass piece. That large infotainment is matched with other cabin tech features, such as a comprehensive ambient LED lighting system and a Burmester 3D surround sound system. The front and rear seats also have both heating and cooling, while a panoramic sunroof bathes the interior with plenty of light. Finally, the interior is expectedly made out of the finest materials, which, in this case, includes open-pore wood, leather upholstery, and galvanized metal trims.
As mentioned, the model on sale in the Philippines is the EQE 350+, which means you get a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup that has a total output of 292 horsepower and 565 Nm of torque. This is good enough for a 0-100 kph time of just 6.9 seconds, while its 96 kWh (usable) lithium-ion battery allows for a WLTP-rated range of 537 to 628 km.
Finally, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV comes with a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), which in this case includes the Driving Assistance Plus Package, which consists of:
- Active Stop & Go Assist
- Active Steering Assist
- Active Brake Assist
- Active Blind Spot Assist
- Active Lane Keeping Assist
These features make it one of the most comprehensively equipped midsize luxury SUVs in its segment, offering Level 2 semi-autonomous ADAS features and going beyond just the usual automatic emergency braking as most of its other German rivals only offer.
Pricing for the new EQE SUV starts at an introductory offer of P7,190,000, which is very competitive, especially for the sheer amount of features and range this electric luxury SUV offers relative to the competition.
