Facelifted 2024 Honda City Hatchback Now In PH, Priced From P1.189M

The 2024 Honda City hatchback has been given a more handsome design, increased practicality, and standard Honda Sensing safety suite.

After a teaser campaign for its impending arrival, the 2024 Honda City hatchback has finally landed in the Philippines. If you’re keen to see the vehicle personally, the new City hatchback is going to be displayed at Bonifacio High Street until June 16, though an experiential test ride for the Honda Sensing’s Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) will be held until Sunday.

Speaking of Honda Sensing, that’s exactly one of the highlights of this model because it makes the City hatchback one of the safest vehicles in its segment. Honda Sensing’s implementation continues to grow in 2024, and in the City hatchback, it includes the following features apart from the aforementioned CMBS:

  1. Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)
  2. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  3. Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
  4. Road Departure Mitigation and Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)
  5. Auto High Beam (AHB)

As before, only one variant will be sold in the Philippines, and that’s the range-topping RS. For the City hatchback, however, the facelift is much more pronounced, as this subcompact hatch gets a more aggressive front bumper than in the RS sedan, along with a slightly larger grille with a mesh pattern. The City hatch also gains a new side skirt, along with a new Sonic Gray paint, which we think is the best color palette for the City hatch. Finally, there are new 16-inch black alloy wheels, a new rear bumper with a more pronounced faux rear diffuser, along with full LED exterior lighting.

Moving inside the 2024 Honda City hatchback, you’ll have a hard time spotting the aesthetic changes. That’s no bad thing, however, as this interior has always been known for being highly functional and reasonably well-trimmed with a soft-touch leatherette dash. New for 2024 is the addition of a 4.2-inch color multi-information display, and a new software for the 8-inch touch screen that now enables wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Visually, the seats also get an upgrade as this is now wrapped in leather with more red details. Finally, the R in ULTR seats, which stood for Relaxation Mode, is now back in the City hatchback.

Unsurprisingly, the 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline is also unchanged, still producing 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. This drives the front wheels via a CVT.

Pricing for the 2024 Honda City hatchback starts at P1,189,000 for this sole RS variant. As mentioned, if you want to check this model out for yourself, you can see it a Bonifacio High Street until June 16, 2024.
