The MG ZS is one of the Sino-British automaker’s most successful cars, and therefore, a sequel was definitely in order to keep the story rolling. After last week’s teaser campaign, the 2025 MG ZS Hybrid+ has finally been unveiled, officially making the second generation of the popular subcompact crossover SUV.

From a styling perspective, the front fascia of the 2025 MG ZS Hybrid+ contains the brand’s latest design motif, incorporating an octagonal grille that’s flanked by L-shaped vents and a pair of slim LED headlights. The side profile has also been reshaped with bigger windows, a more conventional and straight window line as opposed to one that kicks upward from the previous model. There’s also a new set of 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, while the rear end looks more conventional now as the license plate has been relocated to the tailgate itself.

While the exterior changes are significant, they still don’t move the design goalpost any further, but everyone will probably agree that the interior is where the most dramatic changes occur. There’s a sculpted dash with hexagonal air vents, while the materials used are now more premium. There’s also a canopy that separates the vehicle controls, orienting them more towards the driver, while MG has given the new ZS a generous serving of tech.
A 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system are standard, along with automatic climate control, a six-speaker audio system, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, and the MG Pilot suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), ranging from full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, and lane centering, just to name a few.

As predicted, the MG ZS Hybrid+ gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor, and this series-parallel hybrid system produces 192 horsepower and a 0-100 kph time of 8.7 seconds. This makes it more powerful and faster than the Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid it’s set to compete with, whilst most likely costing less as well. The hybrid powertrain is claimed to achieve 23.6 km/l based on WLTP testing procedures.
With the new 2025 MG ZS Hybrid+ now revealed, are you excited for the Sino-British automaker to release this subcompact crossover SUV in our market?
