The current MG ZS has been in the market for quite a while now, which means that it’s time for a new generation model to be released. Thankfully, that’s what the Sino-British automaker is about to do, wherein the next-generation MG ZS is already being teased ahead of its August 28 debut.

As expected, the teasers don’t reveal the vehicle in full, but it seems that the ZS will be completely overhauled. This is reflected from its front end, in which the larger grille, aggressive LED headlights, and bolder front bumper is a complete departure from what the ZS currently looks like. The front end is clearly inspired by the MG3, which dons the current design language of the Sino-British automaker. In fact, if you want a peek at what the next-generation MG ZS will look like, the recently revealed HS already serves as a clear indication of what we can expect.
The interior is likewise expected to see a huge upgrade from the current model, with nicer materials and a generous serving of tech to put it in line with its current model range. Therefore, expect a dual-screen layout that’s already seen in models like the MG3 and the fully-electric MG4.

The model being teased as well is a hybrid variant, and it will probably be shared with the MG3. It is a series-parallel or a power-split hybrid that has a total system output of 192 horsepower that comes from a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder and an electric motor. This is mated to a three-speed gearbox, while electric juice comes from a 1.83 kWh lithium-ion battery.

The 2025 MG ZS is going to be revealed on August 28, with the subcompact crossover SUV hitting European markets first before being offered elsewhere.
