Facelifted 2025 Mazda BT-50 Debuts With CX-5-Like Face, Luxurious Interior

The 2025 Mazda BT-50 arrives with more stylish looks, a premium interior, as well as more standard features.

The 2025 Mazda BT-50 has finally made its debut, receiving a mid-cycle facelift to make the Isuzu D-Max-based pickup even more compelling as competition continues to heat up. Most of the changes are focused on the design, and it helps in putting the BT-50 in line with Mazda’s newer crop of vehicles.

Starting with the front, where most of the changes happen, the BT-50 gets a sportier interpretation of the brand’s wing-shaped grille. The design, which now consists of a mesh pattern and thicker bezels surrounding the grille, echoes a similar vibe as what’s found in the CX-5. On higher trims, there’s a red highlight on the grille to signify its positioning, while the LED headlights now contain circular L-shaped LED daytime running lights, again similar to the CX-5’s.

The side profile remains largely unchanged, except for the addition of new alloy wheel designs for all variants. Lastly, the rear end gets new LED taillights, along with a new tailgate design for a more interesting look.

As expected, just like the recently-facelifted D-Max, the 2025 Mazda BT-50 features similar interior changes. The horizontal dash design remains largely unchanged, while the BT-50 also inherits the same 7-inch digital gauge cluster from the facelifted D-Max. The upper dash compartment cover has also received a slight redesign, while the saddle brown leather and synthetic suede upholstery colors showcase the BT-50’s orientation to being a more luxurious truck than its Isuzu sibling.

The infotainment system in the BT-50 is likewise new, and unlike in the D-Max for the Philippines, Mazda Philippines will most likely preserve the BT-50’s factory global infotainment system. This gets a larger 9-inch screen with a new operating system, and it also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with wireless charging.

Under the hood of the 2025 Mazda BT-50 is the same 3.0-liter Isuzu 4JJ3-TCX turbo four-cylinder diesel that still produces 190 hp and 450 Nm. This is mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic, while 4×4 variants will come with a locking rear differential as standard. The D-Max also inherits Isuzu’s camera-based advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) called Smart Duo Cam, which includes the usual automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, automatic high beam, and adaptive cruise control. Other advanced safety features include blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and a new 360-degree camera system.

With the 2025 Mazda BT-50 now in Australian showrooms, where the vehicle made its global debut, it’s only a matter of time before it arrives in the Philippines. A launch sometime in early or mid-2025 is the most likely scenario for the new 2025 Mazda BT-50.
