A new generation Toyota Hiace may have debuted in 2019 in the Philippines, but the prior generation that was introduced globally in 2004, which arrived in the Philippines in 2005, is still sold today. The now 21-year-old van still chugs along happily with numerous updates to keep it on the radar of van buyers.
One of those updates that have been introduced is the availability of GR Parts for the Hiace. For now, this is limited in Japan, but considering the demand for the Hiace in the Philippines, as well as the strong culture surrounding this van, it’s not impossible for Toyota to bring it here.

The GR Parts catalog begins with two bodykit versions–simply called Version I and Version II. Version I, which costs ¥231,000 (PHP 88,271.06), gives the Hiace a rugged look that makes it look ready for rallying. The bodykit includes a bolt-on component that includes LEDs and a faux skid plate for the front bumper, as well as side skirts and mud flaps in red or black. A similar bolt-on treatment is also included in the rear bumper.

Version II, on the other hand, focuses on a road-biased aesthetic that gives the Hiace a lower and sportier stance. Version II includes front and rear bumper add-ons and side skirts. The simpler look of Version II means it also costs less at ¥143,000 (PHP 54,643.99).
Regardless of which bodykit version you choose, this does not yet include the wheel and tire package for ¥242,000 (PHP 92,474.44), the mudflaps for ¥33,000 (PHP 12,610.15), and the anti-theft GR plate frame for ¥15,510 (PHP 5926.77).
Apart from these GR Parts, the Hiace in Japan also received a new, high-spec variant called the Super GL Dark Prime S. This variant focuses on a more premium aesthetic, with its chrome exterior trimmings, combination leather and knitwear interior upholstery, carbon-look interior trims, automatic climate control, and even powered sliding doors. The “S” logo is even upholstered on the seats, while to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this Hiace, special sill plates can be fitted as an option.
