2026 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Gets Updated Tech, But There’s A Catch

The 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 gets a plethora of new tech features, and that's pretty much what's new for this update.

The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is a massive success, including here in the Philippines. To keep a winning recipe from faltering, Toyota would rather refine the recipe of its highly popular full-size off-roader as opposed to reinventing the formula. That’s exactly what they’ve done for the 2026 model year, wherein all of the changes are focused on its tech features.

Don’t expect anything new design-wise from the 2026 Land Cruiser. All of the changes are focused on the tech, in which the high-spec trims like the sole ZX variant on sale in the Philippines now come with a 12.3-inch fully-digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia infotainment system. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a JBL premium sound system. Lower variants get a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system that also uses the same operating system.

The other tech features that Toyota upgraded in the Land Cruiser 300 are related to security. Apparently, the Land Cruiser 300 is Japan’s most stolen vehicle, so it now comes with My Car Start Lock, which allows owners to lock the engine from their smartphones. All variants also now come with a fingerprint sensor built into the starter button, along with an alarm with a tilt sensor, and an engine immobilizer. However, it is still unknown if these features will be fitted to overseas models, including those for the Philippines.

That’s pretty much it for the changes to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, as all the mechanicals remain unchanged as well. The 3.3-liter turbo diesel motor produces 309 hp and 700 Nm of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic.

Now, here’s the catch, in Japan, despite already being unveiled to the public, you can’t order the new Land Cruiser 300. That’s because Toyota has stopped taking orders for the Land Cruiser 300 while they still clear the backlogs for this vehicle. Back during the pandemic, Toyota even announced that it had a four-year wait list for the full-size SUV. Therefore, it may take a while for even Toyota Motor Philippines to offer the updated Land Cruiser 300 in our market.
