GWM Philippines proudly unveils the facelifted 2025 GWM Cannon at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Thanks to a mid-cycle facelift, the newly-updated Cannon aims to continue its dominance in the pickup segment among Chinese brands in the Philippines with its 50 percent market share.
Initially available in two variants and with all the significant enhancements, GWM Philippines is retaining the price range from the previous lineup delivering greater value to customers. The 2025 GWM Cannon LUX 4X4 variant will retail at P1.348 million, while the top-of-the-line 2025 GWM Cannon SLUX 4×4 variant is priced at P1.498 million—a strategic move that underscores GWM’s commitment to providing premium technology at accessible pricing.

The 2025 GWM Cannon’s mid-cycle facelift has given this truck a tougher yet more refined look. This has been achieved through the black front grille, sportier front bumper, and black fender flares that enhance the Cannon’s proportions. At the rear, a black sports bar adds more design flair, while the multi-function tailgate can also be used as a ladder to climb on to the bed.

But perhaps the biggest upgrade of the new Cannon is its more refined interior. There’s a more generous serving of soft-touch plastics, leather, and leatherette surfaces. In this particular variant, the leather and leatherette surfaces are in red, which adds a sporty touch versus the usual black. Tech also plays a major role in the new Cannon, as there’s now a 7-inch fully-digital gauge cluster with a new graphical design, along with a new 12.3-inch main infotainment screen, likewise utilizing a completely new software. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, along with premium features like power-adjustable front seats with ventilation.
At the heart of the 2025 GWM Cannon is an upgraded 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine paired with a refined nine-speed automatic transmission developed in-house. With a 13 percent increase in power (now at 181 hp) and 20 percent more torque (480 Nm), drivers can expect smoother acceleration, improved towing capability, and more responsive handling. Fuel efficiency has also been optimized, with a 10 percent improvement in consumption, making it ideal for both work and leisure.
Adding to its list of advanced features is the Torque On Demand (TOD) Intelligent Permanent 4×4 system, offering maximum traction across varied terrains, and a high-strength steel frame that ensures structural durability and safety.

As the only Chinese pickup truck brand in the Philippines offering a 7-year warranty, GWM continues to raise the bar in customer confidence, service assurance, and product durability. Unit releases for the new GWM Cannon are scheduled to begin this June, allowing early buyers to be among the first to drive the enhanced GWM Cannon on Philippine roads.
“Filipino consumers deserve vehicles that offer outstanding performance, comfort, and long-term reliability at a very competitive price tag,” said Mr Dax Avenido, Brand Head and Marketing Director of GWM Philippines. “The New GWM Cannon is a reflection of our promise to deliver global innovation tailored for the needs of the local market.”
