Facelifted 2026 Hyundai Stargazer Debuts With Sharper Looks

The Hyundai Stargazer MPV has been with us for about three years now, helping the South Korean automaker expand its presence and appeal in the Southeast Asian region. Thus, it is time to give its popular MPV a mid-cycle facelift. Say hello to the 2026 Hyundai Stargazer, which gains a more striking exterior design, coupled with a more modern interior.

Beginning with its design, the 2026 Hyundai Stargazer comes in both standard and rugged Stargazer X forms. However, this time around, the two versions now share a more common resemblance with their upright and wide front grille that’s complemented by a new front bumper. In the Stargazer, this is finished in satin silver, while the Stargazer X has an even taller grille and a satin silver lower front bumper. Both versions also come with vertical LED headlights, along with LED daytime running lights with an LED light bar

Also separating the two versions are their 17-inch alloy wheel designs, while the Stargazer X carries over its body cladding and roof racks from the previous model. Moving towards the rear, the tailgate has also been given a cleaner look, thanks to the license plate being relocated towards the rear bumper. This enables Hyundai to put the Stargazer script across its tailgate, whilst also fitting it with thicker full-width LED taillights compared to the pre-facelift model.

Moving towards the interior, the 2026 Hyundai Stargazer gets a completely new dashboard. The upper dash trim features soft-touch leatherette surfacing, along with two new 10.25-inch screens for its infotainment and digital gauges. The control panel for the automatic climate control is inspired by the ones found in the new Tucson and Santa Fe, blending both physical knobs and touch capacitive switches.

Also adapted from newer Hyundai models is the column-mounted electronic gear shifter, which frees up space on the car’s center console. Finally, there’s also ambient LED lighting, a Bose sound system, a wireless charging pad, and an electronic parking brake.

Under the hood of the 2026 Hyundai Stargazer is the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine as before, which produces 115 hp and 114 Nm of torque. This is mated exclusively to a CVT with pre-programmed shift points to mimic a traditional automatic transmission.

As with most Hyundais these days, the 2026 Stargazer gets the SmartSense suite of advanced driver-assistance features, which includes full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centering, blind spot warning, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear automatic emergency braking.

With the 2026 Hyundai Stargazer already revealed in Indonesia, it is only a matter of time before this compact MPV eventually reaches Philippine shores. As before, the Stargazer will continue to be manufactured at their Indonesian plant.
