The second-generation 2026 Hyundai Palisade has arrived in the Philippines, just shortly after hitting the South Korean and Indonesian markets. Donning a completely new, clean-sheet design from the ground up, the new Palisade aims to redefine what to expect in the three-row premium crossover SUV segment.
Distinct, Upscale Design

In typical Hyundai fashion, no component has been left unchanged in the Palisade’s new design. Departing from the previous six-year-old model’s rounded looks, the new Palisade goes for a boxier and squarer look. The front end is characterized by a large, upright grille, which is flanked by vertical LED blocks for the daytime running lights. Finished with a frosted glass cover, the daytime running lights blend with the satin silver trim pieces when the vehicle is turned off.
Thanks to its longer wheelbase, shorter front overhang, and stretched rear overhang, the Palisade boasts a more dynamic side profile — one that’s complemented by a boxier roofline. This is highlighted by blacked-out A-pillars, along with satin silver trims on top of the window line and just below the Palisade’s bodywork. The range-topping Calligraphy to be sold in the Philippines also rides on lovely 21-inch wheels. As for the rear end, the Palisade contains vertical LED taillights that mimic the LED blocks up front, along with a more stately rear end design to match the more upscale vibe.

Like the exterior, the interior of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade is completely new, featuring a ton of soft-touch and leatherette surfaces, as well as even matte woodgrain textures. 64-color ambient LED lighting accentuates the mood, and so are other upscale features like two large sunroofs and the Bose sound system. Drivers are then greeted to dual 12.3-inch screens running the latest connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) operating system, as well as a large color head-up display projected at the windshield.
Those seated at the front are treated to a massage function, while the second-row captain’s chairs are power-adjustable. The Palisade is one of the few vehicles to feature seat heating for the third row, while seat heating and cooling are only for the first and second row occupants. Lastly, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade comes with fingerprint recognition, which, compared to past implementations of this feature, allows you to start the Palisade solely with your fingerprint.
New Generation Two-Motor Hybrid System

The new 2026 Hyundai Palisade goes all-hybrid this time around, ditching the previous 2.2-liter turbo diesel motor. In its place is Hyundai Motor Group’s (HMG) new generation two-motor hybrid system, which, in the Palisade’s case, utilizes a 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder. The first electric motor, called P1, is directly mounted to the engine, eliminating the need for the starter motor and a belt system. The second electric motor, simply called P2, is what powers the wheels and provides the regenerative braking.
As before, HMG has chosen the parallel hybrid route for a more linear response and direct driving feel. As such, it uses a six-speed automatic versus an implementation of an e-CVT that the Japanese brands like Honda and Toyota prefer. Furthermore, with this new two-motor hybrid system, Hyundai is now able to add features that were previously exclusive to its full electric vehicles (EVs), namely vehicle-to-load (V2L), which enables the Palisade to be an external power source. The Palisade also receives e-Handling 2.0, among other electronic features that aim to improve the Palisade’s ride and handling characteristics.
All-in-all, this new, two-motor parallel hybrid system gives the 2026 Hyundai Palisade a strong system output of 334 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque. While a third electric motor for the rear axle can be fitted to the new-generation two-motor hybrid system, thus giving it electronic all-wheel drive (e-AWD), the one in the Palisade still uses a mechanical driveshaft to the rear axle.
Finally, as for safety, as you’d imagine, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade comes with the full suite of SmartSense advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), ranging from Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane Following Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and a Surround View Monitor, among other features. New for the Palisade are ADAS features that include Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning.
Priced from P3,980,000, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade in hybrid form is now available across all Hyundai dealers nationwide. The vehicle itself comes with a five-year/200,000-kilometer warranty, while the battery for the hybrid system has an eight-year/160,000-kilometer warranty.
