2026 BYD Tang DM-i Now In PH, Priced From P2.098M

The 2026 BYD Tang DM-i is now in the Philippines, the brand's first seven-seater plug-in hybrid SUV in their local lineup.

This is it, the long-awaited 2026 BYD Tang DM-i. To those who have been wishing for a seven-seater plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) from BYD, the Tang DM-i finally fulfills that role. However, as a model from BYD’s Dynasty Series as opposed to the Ocean Series, the Tang DM-i also blends premium appointments for those looking into this seven-seater SUV.

First things first, with its bold exterior design, the 2026 BYD Tang DM-i combines elegance and sportiness in the same way that the pure electric version already projects. One thing that immediately sets the Tang DM-i apart from the electric version is its wide mesh grille. Surrounding it is a black trim piece, which is then flanked by LED headlights. At the side, the Tang DM-i features sculpted lines and a sloped roofline, wherein the black roof pillars give it a floating roof visual effect.

Moving towards the rear fascia, BYD has given the Tang DM-i a clean tailgate, with the license plate being located at the rear bumper. As with every BYD, the Tang DM-i also has full-width LED taillights. 20-inch wheels are the order of the day, which, when opting for the gray paint, are painted in matte black. Finally, the gray paint is also the perfect option if you want the chrome trims swapped out for gloss black.

Now, as for the interior, the 2026 BYD Tang DM-i feels premium and well-built. Soft-touch materials are complemented by a mix of leather and leatherette surfaces, while satin silver textures add sophistication to the overall vibe. There’s plenty of gloss black trims as well, but thankfully, at least they’re far from the frequently-touched controls. A multi-color ambient light can either be highly customizable or linked to the music you are playing.

Speaking of music, there’s a 12-speaker DYNAUDIO sound system that fills the cabin with high-quality sound, and these are all controlled through the 15.6-inch high-resolution infotainment screen. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and this is complemented by the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

Those seated in the second row will marvel at the large panoramic glass roof, while amenities include their own rear aircon vents, along with USB-C and USB-A fast-charging ports. Finally, those in the third row benefit from cupholders, but that’s pretty much their amenities back there. Also, those third-row seats aren’t the most spacious, so best reserve them for kids.

Under the hood of the 2026 BYD Tang DM-i is the brand’s first application in the Philippines of a turbocharged plug-in hybrid system. In this case, by combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and an electric motor, its total system output is an impressive 271 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. This is sent through all four wheels via a planetary gear-type e-CVT.

With a 21.5 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) Blade battery pack, the Tang DM-i has a pure electric range of 110 kilometers, while its total driving range is an impressive 1,160 kilometers. Since its battery is larger than some of BYD’s other DM-i models, this is one of the brand’s only two models in the Philippines that support DC fast charging. At its maximum output of 30 kW, a 30 to 80 percent charge is good for just 30 minutes, while charging from 15 to 100 percent at 7 kW in AC is good for three hours.

Lastly, the 2026 BYD Tang DM-i comes with the full suite of DiPilot advanced driver-assistance systems, which includes automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and lane centering, among other features.

The 2026 BYD Tang DM-i is now on sale across all dealerships in the Philippines, priced from P2,098,000. Interested? Reserve yours today through this link: https://bydcarsph.com/tangdmi?utm_source=KOL&utm_medium=GoflatOutPh&utm_campaign=Tangdmi&utm_content=TangdmiLaunch
