New Cayenne Electric Is Porsche’s Most Powerful Model Ever

The Porsche Cayenne Electric is the most powerful vehicle that the brand has ever created, with up to 1,139 horsepower.

The Cayenne served a turning point for the Porsche brand in the early 2000s. It was one of the vehicles that financially saved the brand, and now for 2026, Porsche aims to replicate that success. Say hello to the first-ever Porsche Cayenne Electric, marking a turning point in the brand’s most important vehicle, sales-wise.

From a design standpoint, the Cayenne Electric looks familiar, but with altered proportions that are meant to improve aerodynamics. For instance, it has a pointier front end, which is the result of the hood line being lowered, the headlights being slimmed out, and the overhangs reshaped. At the sides, you have clean lines and frameless doors, while unique to the Turbo are active rear flaps.

Speaking of which, the Cayenne Turbo Electric comes with other active aero tricks like a smart roof spoiler and aero flaps. And then at the back, there’s a full-width LED taillight design, with the Porsche script part of the lighting signature as well.

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric Reveals Its Screen-Filled Interior

As for its interior, the brand has already previewed it a couple of months ago, and so everything here will already be familiar to you. Your eyes will be drawn to the Flow Display, the main OLED infotainment screen that’s been bent at a 45-degree angle.

The reason for the bend is that the lower part of the screen features scrollable secondary controls. Without the secondary menu, scrolling through the entire display should (theoretically) feel a bit more natural as opposed to having the screen completely vertical.

In conjunction with the Flow Display is a 14.25-inch OLED digital gauge cluster and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display. Another optional feature comes in the form of a massive 87-inch augmented reality head-up display (HUD).

Despite being filled with screens, the interior promises to remain premium and luxurious. Thankfully, there’s still a bevy of knobs and toggles to make controlling various interior features easy and less distracting than if everything was buried in the touchscreen.

With a wheelbase of 3,020 mm, the Cayenne Electric offers more passenger space than its gas counterpart. Being an electric vehicle (EV) that’s using Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE), it also has clever packaging provided by its generous front trunk. Porsche is also proud to highlight that its optional panoramic electrochromic sunroof is its largest ever, and this does not compromise the rear headroom in any way.

PPE is also what enables the Cayenne Electric to be the most powerful Porsche ever. The Cayenne Turbo Electric has a dual-motor setup that produces 844 horsepower, but when Push-to-Pass is activated, an additional 173 horses for 10 seconds is added to the system.

Put it in Launch Control, however, and you will unleash all 1,139 horsepower and 1,500 Nm of torque. Do that, and you’ll sprint from 0-100 kph in just 2.5 seconds–about as fast as the flagship of the 911 range–the 911 Turbo S. With enough straight roads, the Cayenne Turbo Electric can hit 260 kph.

If the Cayenne Turbo Electric is too much performance for you, that’s where the standard Cayenne Electric comes in. This model produces 402 horsepower, but Launch Control once again unleashes more power–to the tune of 435 horsepower and 834 Nm of torque. This is good enough for a 0-100 kph time of 4.8 seconds, along with a 230 kph top speed.

All Cayenne Electric models come with a large 113 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is good enough for a WLTP-rated range of 642 kilometers for the Cayenne Electric, and 623 kilometers for the Turbo Electric. Thanks to PPE’s 800-volt architecture, the Cayenne Electric also supports up to 390 kW of DC fast charging, which is good for a 10 to 80 percent charge in less than 16 minutes, granted you are able to utilize such a powerful charger.

Speaking of which, the Cayenne Electric also comes with wireless charging at 11 kW AC, which you can know more about in full detail here. But, as a summary, yes, the charger is quite efficient at delivering its power to the Cayenne Electric wirelessly, and it will also stop charging if it detects an animal or other objects interfering with the charging process.

Another way to charge the battery is through its regenerative braking. Now, that isn’t exactly revolutionary stuff, since every EV does that. In Porsche’s case, however, the regenerative braking, aka the electric motor running in reverse, can generate up to 600 kW of recuperation power. As a result, Porsche says that 97 percent of your braking needs will be enough without using the disc brakes. Even then, in the Cayenne Turbo Electric, you can still opt for carbon ceramic brakes.

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric isn’t also just about the speed. This is a Porsche after all, so you can bet that every electromechanical system possible is fitted to this SUV–all in the name of making it drive like a sports car. Porsche Active Suspension Management, which, in this case, uses two-valve air suspension, comes as standard.

Available as an option in the Turbo Electric is the Porsche Active Ride. Inherited from the Panamera E-Hybrid models, Porsche Active Ride is capable of nearly completely eliminating body roll altogether for both excellent handling and a stable ride. Couple that with features like the Turbo Electric’s Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) limited-slip rear differential and the optional rear steer, and you’ve got a luxury electric SUV that weighs about 2.5 tonnes, cornering just as well as any of Porsche’s sports cars.

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric is set to reach global markets beginning arond mid-2026, with a Philippine launch possibly happening through PGA Cars in late 2026 or early 2027.
