Omoda 4 Hybrid Subcompact SUV Previewed, Coming Soon To PH?

The new Omoda 4 has been previewed at the Auto China 2026. Production and export will begin very soon at a soon-to-be-announced date.

Omoda & Jaecoo, two of Chery’s youth-oriented sub-brands, have previewed the new Omoda 4 at the Auto China 2026 in Beijing. The Omoda 4 is a subcompact crossover SUV with a full hybrid drivetrain marketed as SHS-H. For now, this is just a preview, but production and exports for the Omoda 4 are set to commence this year at a yet-to-be-provided date.

The Omoda 4 features radically futuristic styling—one characterized by sharp lines and aggressive creases. Up front, a large gloss black trim piece conceals the diagonal LED daytime running lights and separate main LED headlights into a hexagonal-shaped design element, while the LED daytime running lights are located on top of the front fascia.

At the sides, the wheel arches feature an unorthodox polygon shape, which bodes well with the bodywork’s mix of sharp angles and creases. Lastly, moving towards the rear, the Omoda 4 features angular LED taillights, with the Omoda script written across its single-piece full-width tailgate trim piece that visually connects the two taillights.

Now, as for the interior, the Omoda 4 features an equally angular interior layout. There’s a generous amount of soft-touch surfaces, though there aren’t a lot of physical controls. There are only up to six buttons surrounding the center console, along with what looks like an engine start button with a Lamborghini-style flip-up cover. In fact, the interior design is somehow reminding us of a Lamborghini’s interior design theme.

As for tech features, the Omoda 4 has a portrait-style touchscreen and a digital gauge cluster. Though the vehicle is turned off, the screens are similar in design and layout to the recently-launched Jaecoo J5 SHS-H in the Philippines, so we won’t be surprised if it’s also going to be a shared part.

Powering the Omoda 4 is the brand’s signature SHS-H full hybrid system, which combines a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder, along with an electric motor. Power is sent to the front wheels via a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). If the powertrain choice sounds familiar, it’s because it is shared with the Jaecoo J5 SHS-H. Though power output was not revealed, we won’t be surprised if it also produces 224 horsepower and 295 Nm of torque.

More information about the Omoda 4 will be revealed in due time, so do stick around with Go Flat Out PH if you’re looking forward to another affordable compact crossover hybrid SUV to heat up the segment.
