The 2027 Toyota Hilux has finally arrived in the Philippines, thus making us one of the first left-hand drive (LHD) markets of the popular midsize pickup. For the Philippines, both the diesel and the pure EV versions are being offered, and here are the specs of the various versions.
If you prefer a turbo diesel engine, this version of the Hilux is available in E, G, V, and Conquest trims. Regardless of which variant you choose from, the new Hilux flexes its “Cyber Sumo” design motif through its slimmer LED headlights flanking a black panel. This is where the Toyota script is written, and below it is a borderless mesh grille.
Now, the familiarity from the outgoing generation is evident in its side profile. Though the fenders have been slightly reshaped, the doors and window line are nearly the same as the outgoing model. The E, G, and BEV variants get 17-inch wheels, while 18-inch wheels are fitted to the V and Conquest. The Conquest is the model to go to if you want the sportiest version of the Hilux so far.
As for the rear end, you get a new tailgate design with the Hilux logo stamped on its tailgate handle. There are also new LED taillight graphics and a new rear bumper. Overall, the design changes are quite drastic, even if the side profile carries a sense of familiarity.
Inside the 2026 Toyota Hilux, you’ll see a comprehensively updated dash design with a predominantly horizontal motif. There’s also an increased use of soft-touch plastics, along with more leatherette trims. Two large screens also dominate the dash design, adding a new layer of technology never before seen in the Hilux. And yet, despite the increased technology, there are still a generous amount of physical controls.
For the E and G variants, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8-inch infotainment are fitted as standard, and this also features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These two variants also feature manual seating adjustment with fabric upholstery. All other variants have a pair of 12.3-inch screens, along with an electronic parking brake, synthetic leather upholstery, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Unique to the BEV is an electronic-style shifter.
Now, as for its powertrain, all versions of the Hilux 2.8-liter diesel produce 204 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The chassis itself has two states of tune, depending on the variant. For the E and G, these variants feature rear drum brakes and hydraulic steering, while the V, Conquest, and BEV have four-wheel disc brakes and electric power steering.
Moving over to the Hilux BEV, this version gets dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) as standard and produces 193 horsepower, with 200 Nm at the front and 269 Nm at the rear. With a 59.2 kWh battery, it has an NEDC-rated range of 315 kilometers. As for its payload, the electric Hilux can haul up to 715 kilos, while the 2.8-liter diesel version can haul up to one tonne.
Reservations and pre-selling activities for the 2026 Toyota Hilux have already begun at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show, from June 4 to 7. Emotional Red, which is offered in select variants, carries a P20,000 premium.
