Fully-Electric Nissan Primera Makes World Debut In PH

The new Nissan Primera makes its world debut in the Philippines, and it's going on sale in our market this year.

Nissan Philippines didn’t just unveil the new X-Trail e-Power and Kicks e-Power for the Philippine market, but they also showcased two world debuts. The first of those is the Nissan Navara Pro PHEV, and for those who prefer a full electric Nissan, there’s also the new Primera EV. The Primera EV is essentially the Nissan N7, which, like the Navara Pro, are vehicles from the Dongfeng Nissan joint venture. In its rebadged form, the Philippine-market Primera is the first-ever export model of Nissan China’s N7.

The Nissan Primera is a midsize electric sedan that features an aero-smooth but relatively simplistic design with a fastback profile; it rocks an almost Tesla-styled front end, combined with a rear reminiscent of the BYD Seal 5, a styling cue that at least hints at current EV offerings.

Its rounded front-end features a styled light-bar with LED headlights that are integrated into a pair of V-shaped LED screens below it. The Primera also sits on 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 235 series tires; a perfect aesthetic complement to the car’s long wheelbase.

Moreover, the interior likewise focuses on sleekness, though, as with many electric vehicles (EVs) catered to the Chinese market, it features an interior with a clearly minimalist design approach. It does, however, also feature a decently sized 15.6-inch HD touchscreen display, and on the driver’s side, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

The audio system is comprised of a 12-way speaker set, and to literally top it all off, the Primera also comes with a panoramic sunroof. The Primera comes standard with Nissan’s key safety features, such as its Intelligent Mobility system, which is essentially the brand’s own ADAS systems, serving as an additional measure of safety.

With these four electric vehicles, from hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and even a pure electric offering, Nissan Philippines is doubling down on electrified models, especially as an energy crisis has rattled the automotive market in recent months.
