2027 GWM Haval H7 Arrives In PH In Hybrid And PHEV, Priced From P1.298M

The new 2027 GWM Haval H7 is a rugged alternative to the likes of the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i or Geely EX5 EM-i, priced from under P1.3 million.

After being previewed at the recent Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), the 2027 GWM Haval H7 has officially been launched in the Philippines. The H7 is set to compete in the ever-growing and highly competitive electrified compact crossover SUV segment, which is composed of both hybrid and plug-in hybrid offerings.

If you’re in the market for an affordable hybrid or plug-in hybrid SUV, the 2027 GWM Haval H7 HEV (hybrid) retails for just P1,298,000. And yet, this is a compact crossover SUV that’s as big as a BYD Sealion 6 DM-i. The HEV variant, which is only offered in front-wheel drive or 2WD form, combines a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder and an electric motor. It sends power to the front wheels via a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), whose system output is 244 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque.

For those who prefer a plug-in hybrid, the PHEV 2WD uses the same 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder and single electric-motor combination, but it now boosts output to 322 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. Thanks to a 19.09 kWh battery, the PHEV 2WD offers a 105-kilometer NEDC-rated pure-electric range. The PHEV 2WD will retail for just P1,548,000.

Lastly, there is also a PHEV AWD variant, which features the Hi4 powertrain that we love. Hi4 is GWM’s pure AWD plug-in hybrid drivetrain that uses two electric motors and an internal combustion engine (ICE) in various layouts. We did an engineering deep dive on Hi4 last year, and if you want to see how Hi4 stands out among a string of plug-in hybrid systems from other Chinese brands, we think it’s worth a read here.

Due to the beefy setup, the PHEV AWD produces a whopping 364 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque, but since its battery size is still the same as the PHEV 2WD at 19.09 kWh, its NEDC-rated pure electric range drops to a still impressive 91 kilometers. This variant will serve as the nameplate’s flagship, and will retail for P1,698,000. Still an impressive price tag, considering its competitors have less power and don’t offer AWD.

As for features, full LED exterior lighting comes as standard, and a swing-out tailgate due to the presence of a spare tire. All versions also feature a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment, along with leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 540-degree camera, and an eight-speaker sound system.

Stepping up to the AWD plug-in hybrid gets you 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, LED interior ambient lighting, a windshield-projected head-up display, and power adjustment for both driver and front passenger. A suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) is unique to the 4WD plug-in hybrid, and this includes adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and blind spot warning, just to name a few.

The 2027 GWM Haval H7 is now on sale, and to make the rugged electrified crossover SUV even more tempting, the H7 comes with a 7-year or 200,000-kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 10-year or 1,000,000-kilometer powertrain warranty, and an 8-year or 200,000-kilometer battery warranty. Furthermore, a P50,000 discount is being offered for this month only.
