The new-generation 2027 Lexus ES has officially arrived in the Philippines today, marking a new era for the brand’s pioneering midsize luxury sedan. As part of the brand’s expanding electrified portfolio, the new ES is being offered in both hybrid and a first-ever pure electric version.
But before talking about the technical specs, let’s talk about which variants will be sold in the Philippines. For the ES 350h, it will be sold in two variants called Executive and Luxury, while the fully electric ES 350e comes in a single variant.
Whichever variant you choose, the 2027 Lexus ES wears the brand’s newest design language called “Clean Tech x Elegance”. This new design language is characterized by contrasting details to highlight certain aspects of the vehicle’s panels, such as the black panel that defines its character lines. 19-inch wheels are fitted to the ES 350h, while the ES 350e gets 21-inch wheels.
At the front, the new ES has an enclosed Spindle Body, which is an evolution of its Spindle Grille for the electrified era. The ES 350h has a slightly larger lower air intake, while the fully electric ES 350e has its front end fully enclosed. The grille is accented by a gloss black trim piece that visually connects to the full LED headlights. Lastly, the rear end gets full-width LED taillights, a fastback-like roofline, and an illuminated Lexus script.
Moving inside the 2027 Lexus ES, the horizontal dash layout contains tactile but flush buttons that only illuminate when its functions are needed. At the same time, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14-inch touchscreen are powered by the new Arene OS, which is a software-defined vehicle (SDV) electronics and software architecture that allows for new features to be delivered via over-the-air (OTA) updates. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also come as standard.
As expected in a Lexus, the interior of the ES feels luxurious and well built. There’s a generous serving of soft-touch materials and leather or leatherette surfaces, depending on the variant. Standard features across all variants include a sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, and the full Lexus Safety System+ advanced safety suite. Meanwhile, in the ES 350h Executive, you get a 10-speaker sound system and synthetic leather upholstery, while a 17-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system and perforated synthetic leather are fitted in the ES 350h Luxury. Lastly, the range-topping ES 350e gets semi-aniline leather, bamboo interior trim, and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) as exclusive features.
Powering the 2027 Lexus ES 350h is the newest sixth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS VI), which introduces even more electric-dominant driving. This new and improved 2.5-liter hybrid system not only promises better efficiency, but also more power. The ES 350h delivers a strong output of 247 horsepower, which is an improvement of 17 horsepower over the fifth-generation system.
As for the pure electric version, the ES 350e gets a single front-wheel drive (FWD) electric motor layout that produces 227 horsepower and 269 Nm of torque. With a 77 kWh battery, the ES 350e has a WLTP-rated range of up to 493 kilometers.
The 2027 Lexus ES is now on sale in the Philippines with the following prices:
- ES 350h Executive: P4,108,000
- ES 350h Luxury: P4,308,000
- ES 350e: P5,688,000
