MG Motor Philippines officially kicks off the Multiply Greatness Tour 2026 at the Trinoma Activity Center on August 27, 2026 with the launch of the 2027 MG S5 EV. This is an electric crossover SUV that aims to compete with the likes of the Jaecoo J5 EV and the BYD Atto 3.
At 4,476 mm long, 1,849 mm wide, and 1,621 mm high, with a 2,730 mm wheelbase, it sits right at the heart of the compact crossover EV segment. The MG S5 has focuses on gentle curves for its design. The front end contains a lower air intake and a clean face. The main LED headlights are separate from the LED daytime running lights, while the side profile has a curvaceous silhouette. Full-width LED taillights with the MG logo proudly siitting in the middle complement the modern lines of the S5.
Inside, the 2027 MG S5 greets drivers with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster alongside a 12.8-inch touchscreen display. The latter has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include automatic climate control, fabric seats, andand a manual dimming rearview mirror. There are also a plethora of USB-C charging ports scattered around the cabin.
Powering the 2027 MG S5 EV is a rear-wheel drive (RWD) single electric motor that produces 170 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Thanks to a 49 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, it has an NEDC-rated range of 415 kilometers. The S5 EV supports up to120 kW of DC fast charging, which allows for a 10 to 90 percent charge in approximately 24 minutes. Meanwhile, AC charging is supported at up to 7 kW, and also provides vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities.
The 2027 MG S5 EV also comes with an extensive suite of MG Pilot advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Door Opening Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Braking, Rear Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Intelligent Headlight Control, Intelligent Speed Assistance, and Driver Monitoring System.
The new 2027 MG S5 EV is available in Desert Sand Beige, Andes Gray, Cosmic Silver, and Dover White, at a price tag of P1,448,888. To celebrate its arrival, MG Motor Philippines is offering an introductory P40,000 discount, bringing the price down to Php 1,408,888.
Customers who reserve during the Multiply Greatness Tour can receive an additional P10,000 discount for a minimum reservation fee of P1,000 during the event, on top of any applicable introductory offers. This promo is available for selected models, including the MG S5 EV, MG4 Urban EV, MG RX9 PHEV, and MG HS PHEV.
That means customers can enjoy the MG S5 EV with a price of P1,398,888, along with P30,000 worth of charging equipment, including a 7-kW wall charger and a 3.3-kW portable charger.
