The new 2027 Ford Ranger has arrived in the Philippines with a new 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine as standard.

As one of the most important vehicles of Ford Philippines, the Ranger pickup’s launch is undoubtedly highly anticipated. Updated for the upcoming model year, the 2027 Ford Ranger finally makes its way into the Philippines with numerous tech and powertrain changes–most notably the discontinuation of the 2.0-liter twin-turbo (bi-turbo) diesel.

V6 Power As Standard

Yes, the 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel has officially been discontinued. Replacing it is the 3.0-liter turbo V6 diesel, which used to be reserved primarily in right-hand drive (RHD) markets only. This engine produces 247 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. This engine traces its lineage to the Ford Lion V6, which was a family of V6 diesel engines developed by Ford for Jaguar and Land Rover. A 10-speed automatic is your only transmission choice for this engine.

Interestingly, the Ranger does not get the updated 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine with a new timing chain. With the available variants for the 2027 Ranger, Ford is somehow positioning their pickup for lifestyle segments as the Sport, XLT, and other lower variants still don’t get any of these updates.

Now, as for the exterior design of the 2027 Ford Ranger, blink, and you’ll probably miss the very minor changes they’ve made. You see, the current Ranger already looks distinct as it is, so the Blue Oval brand has decided not to mess around with things. The distinct C-clamp LED daytime running lights surrounding the LED headlights remain, but the chrome and gray exterior trims on various Ranger variants have been swapped out for gloss black.

More updates come in the form of new wheel designs, new colors, and new variants. Wildtrak’s new hero color is now Ignite Orange, and this variant continues to receive premium features like adaptive matrix LED headlights. New for the 2027 Ford Ranger is a variant called Wildtrak X, which sits below the Ranger Raptor and above the “base” Wildtrak.

The Wildtrak X sets itself apart with its gloss black grille with integrated LED auxiliary lights, Bilstein shocks, 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, and metal underbody protection that includes a bash plate and a skid plate. The Wildtrak, meanwhile, gets a sports hoop that can be adjusted fore and aft (which is also fitted to the Wildtrak X), a grille with Ignite Orange accents and 18-inch wheels.

Moving inside the 2027 Ford Ranger, the changes mostly focus on reshuffled features. The 12-inch portrait SYNC4 infotainment and 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster are standard across the range. There’s also a B&O sound system, along with all chrome interior trims being swapped for either matte or gloss black trims across the lineup. More Ignite Orange trims are also seen inside the cabin, along with ambient LED lighting.

Lastly, the 2027 Ford Ranger lineup comes as standard with a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), which includes full-speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go, a 360-degree camera system, and other advanced safety features.

Pricing for the 2027 Ford Ranger starts at P2,469,000 for the Wildtrak and P2,609,000 for the Wildtrak X. The Ranger Raptor with a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel has been discontinued, and all you get now is the 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost gasoline V6, and it now retails for P2,879,000.
