Updated Tesla Model Y L With Faster Acceleration Now On Sale In PH

The Tesla Model Y L has been updated for the Philippine market with faster acceleration whilst keeping its price unchanged.

Barely a year into its release in the Philippine market, the three-row Tesla Model Y L is already receiving a minor update in the form of a performance boost.

To be precise, the 2027 Tesla Model Y L benefits from a quicker 0-100 kph time of just 4.5 seconds, which is half a second quicker than before. For reference, the previous Model Y L does the 0-100 kph dash in just 5 seconds.

Though Tesla Philippines didn’t reveal how the performance boost was achieved, a deeper search yields a news report from Sina that states that based on filings with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) the Model Y L gets a new “TL2” front electric motor, which produces 236 horsepower versus the previous motor that produces 190 horsepower. The publication also says that the new electric motor is more powerful, but it is also more energy efficient as well.

Despite the quicker performance, the 681-kilometer WLTP-rated range is also retained. What’s also retained is its price tag, which is still at P2,849,000.
