The second generation Kia Soul made its debut at the 2014 Manila International Auto Show. The second generation Kia Soul has its inspiration from the Kia Track’ster Concept, further raising the bar in what is already a good looking car to begin with. Not all its design cues are for show though. Many of its design cues are meant to reduce drag, further reducing its fuel consumption.
Not that the first generation Kia Soul was a cramped vehicle, because it isn’t in any way. Kia claims the Soul to have larger head, leg, and shoulder room, thanks to its larger dimensions. Driving dynamics have been improved as well, thanks to the new MDPS (Motion Driven Power Steering) with the Hyundai-Kia Group’s FlexSteer, which alters the steering weight and feel depending on the situation or the driver’s mood.
Powering the Kia Soul is a 1.6 liter diesel engine that produces 126 hp and 260 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-Speed Multi-Mode Automatic Transmission.
