Honda City Hatchback Is PH’s Best-Selling Subcompact Hatch

With 189 units sold since launch, the all-new Honda City Hatchback captures 75 percent of the subcompact hatch segment.

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is proud to announce that the all-new Honda City Hatchback is currently the best-seller in the subcompact hatch segment, which is composed of competitors like the Toyota Yaris, Mazda 2 hatch, and Kia Rio.

The all-new Honda City Hatchback officially arrived in the Philippines last April 20, 2021, through a virtual launch event. The model’s introduction paved way for Honda to expand its renowned City model line-up, as it serves as the brand’s newest offering in the hatchback category. It also replaces the Jazz in the ASEAN region.

Since then, the model has become one of the country’s best-selling hatchbacks. In its segment, it occupies 75 percent of the market with 189 units sold since its launch.

One of the standout aspects of the all-new Honda City Hatchback is its versatility. Thanks to its Ultra Seats (ULTR), it can easily adapt to a wide variety of the owner’s lifestyle and cargo needs. Notable interior features such as the passive entry with push-button start, remote engine start, 8-inch Honda OEM Advanced Touch Screen Display Audio with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and WebLink connectivity, just to name a few.

Customers have also shared their positive feedback on the model’s driving capabilities, as well as its power and fuel efficiency. Powering the all-new Honda City Hatchback is the same 1.5-liter inline-4 DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine found in the sedan, which means it also produces 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a CVT. This reaffirms the model’s released official fuel economy run result last May 2021, in partnership with Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), which achieved a fuel mileage of 25 kilometers per liter after a total of 73.5 kilometers highway day driving.

As for safety, the all-new City Hatchback is equipped with electronic stability control, hill start assist, six airbags, emergency stop signal, and a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines. Thanks to all these features, the City Hatchback recently received a full 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.

The all-new Honda City Hatchback is priced at P1,115,000 for the sole RS variant on sale and is available in four colors, Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl (+P15,000), and Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic.

“We are truly delighted to see the All-New City Hatchback soar in the hatchback segment since its introduction in the country. Furthermore, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our customers for their continuous support to Honda throughout the years. The positive acceptance of the Filipino market on the model means a lot for us and we would like to reaffirm our promise to continuously serve the country with quality products and excellent customer service.” Said Mr. Masahiko Nakamura, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) president.
