2025 Lamborghini Urus SE Is A 789-HP Plug-In Hybrid Super SUV

The 2025 Lamborghini Urus SE is the first electrified super SUV of the brand and it's also the most powerful Urus variant on sale.

The Lamborghini Urus SE has just been unveiled, and it’s the Italian supercar brand’s first electrified SUV. Yes, you read that right. The SE is a new Urus variant, which in this case, comes with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain (PHEV) as its method of electrification, complementing the flagship Revuelto which is a V12 PHEV Aventador successor.

Lurking under its hood is the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that the Urus has always used. Only this time, it’s complemented by a 189 horsepower electric motor mounted right at the gearbox. Together with the V8, it has a total system output of 789 horsepower, with power sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic. Thanks to its 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Urus SE has a pure electric range of more than 60 km.

Since the Urus SE sits above the Urus S (which is essentially the facelift for the Urus), the overall driving characteristics of the SE is sort of a bridge to the range-topping Performante. It has a 0-100 kph time of just 3.4 seconds, a tenth faster than the Urus S, but also a tenth slower than the Performante. That’s because this is also the heaviest Urus and therefore the heaviest Lamborghini to date, 2,540 kg due to the batteries and electric motors. Unlike the Urus S and Performante, the Urus SE ditches the mechanical limited-slip differential (LSD) in favor of a new “virtual” LSD. This, according to Lamborghini, produces an “on-demand” 0versteer, basically the rear end having the ability to let loose.

As for its design, it is largely similar to the Urus S, albeit with a few alterations. The Lamborghini Urus SE gains a new design for its adaptive matrix LED headlights, while the front bumper also receives a slight redesign. The redesigned hood also extends to the bumper, giving it a similar aesthetic to the Revuelto. At the sides, the Urus SE gets a new design for the 23-inch wheels. Finally, the rear end receives a new mesh-like pattern that surround the LED taillights to mimic the rear end of the brand’s supercars.

Moving inside the Lamborghini Urus SE, the design is also largely unchanged, save for a new selection of colors, upholstery, and trim finishes. Where it differs from the Urus S is with its PHEV-specific menus, which reveal information such as charge times and electric range, just to name a few. Of course, there’s also the obligatory pure EV mode, while Lamborghini says that the buttons and switches now have a more premium feel.

We anticipate that the Lamborghini Urus SE will arrive in the Philippines sometime in 2025, depending on when the first customer order from PGA Cars happens. Of course, if you’re interested in this model, you can head to Lamborghini Manila, which is located in Bonifacio Global City.
