More than a year after being unveiled in Thailand, Isuzu Philippines Corporation has just confirmed that the facelifted 2024 Isuzu D-Max is set to arrive in the Philippines on June 20. The facelifted D-Max builds upon the capabilities of the pre-facelift model, but with added technological and aesthetic qualities that improve the pickup’s appeal and competitiveness in the segment.

When it arrives in the Philippines, the 2024 Isuzu D-Max will receive an improved front end across the range. There’s now a new, angular grille along with newly-designed LED headlights with a sleeker design for the LED daytime running lights. Moving towards the rest of the vehicle, there are new alloy wheel designs as well as a new graphic design for the LED taillights.
In Thailand, there’s also a new VCross variant that aims to compete with pickups like the Ranger Wildtrak and Hilux Conquest, and this variant focuses on having sportier details such as a more aggressive front end, sportier 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, roof rails, just to name a few.

Inside, the 2024 Isuzu D-Max’s interior remains largely unchanged except for a few new aesthetic enhancements. The Thai-market D-Max receives a two-tone brown and black interior with heat-resistant CoolMax leather upholstery, while higher variants now benefit from a 7-inch partly digital instrument cluster. Other creature comforts worth mentioning include a 9-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (though we’re confident Isuzu Philippines will be ditching this in favor of a locally-supplied 10.1-inch infotainment system), along with dual-zone climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, just to name a few.
Mechanically, the 2024 Isuzu D-Max won’t receive any changes. Your engine choices will most likely be the RZ4E 1.9-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, while the range-topping engine remains to be the 4JJ3-TCX 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear or all four wheels via a six-speed manual or automatic, depending on the variant. A rear locking differential is offered in overseas models, while in the Philippines, Isuzu Philippines somehow thought it was a good idea to offer the differential lock for the 4×4 LS MT only.

Lastly, just like the pre-facelift D-Max, this new model comes with a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, ranging from automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist (for right-hand drive models with an electric power steering), blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, just to name a few. What’s new for 2024 is the stereoscopic cameras’ wider field of view, which enhances system accuracy and performance.
When the 2024 Isuzu D-Max does make its way into the Philippines, we certainly hope that most of what we’re seeing in Thailand will be offered in our market for this mid-cycle facelift. If you’re keen to see what’s in store for you when you purchase a D-Max yourself, the launch event will take place at SM Mall of Asia Central Atrium on June 20 at 6 pm, with the vehicles remaining on display until June 23.
