Facelifted 2025 BMW 3 Series Receives Very Minor Updates

The 2025 BMW 3 Series comes with extremely minor updates that are easy to miss, though the interior feel has been improved.

The current generation G20 BMW 3 Series has undergone a second facelift. For this facelift, however, the updates made to the 2025 BMW 3 Series are understandably minor, so as to keep the vehicle competitive enough until the next-generation model arrives together with a pure electric model based on the BMW Vision Neue Klasse.

Blink and you’ll probably miss the updates that BMW has made to the 3 Series. In fact, on the exterior front, there’s nothing new to set the new model from the first facelift apart from new color choices and alloy wheel designs. The new colors for the 3 Series ard Arctic Race Blue metallic and Fire Red metallic (as shown in these photos). On the other hand, the new wheel choice features a Y-spoke design with a diameter of 19 inches.

As for the interior, there are visible changes though they’re still very minor. This includes a new steering wheel design, along with a slight redesign of the dash. In this case, the central air vents have been reshaped and now feature an ambient LED light with a cascading-like effect. The software running the two curved displays is also new, and is now the latest iDrive 8.5, though certain facelifted 3 Series models can also get this as a software update (depending on when it was built). Also new for the 2025 update is the option for CraftedClarity crystal glass switches, which makes the iDrive controller, the toggle-type gear selector, and the start/stop button a glass finish.

While the exterior changes are almost non-existent, BMW did implement a few upgrades to the car’s chassis. This includes a stiffer mounting that connects the rear dampers to the body, among other revisions that enhance the vehicle’s ride comfort and handling, further putting the 3 Series ahead of the pack for its globally-renowned benchmark sportiness and now-improved comfort levels. For even greater comfort and handling flexibility, the adaptive suspension is standard on the M340i and optional on M Sport models.

Finally, as for engines, this is mostly unchanged for the 2025 BMW 3 Series. That’s because the 330i’s 2.0-liter B48 engine does get a few tweaks, but this engine is currently not offered in our 3 Series range. What we get is the 318i, which will still produce 154 hp and 250 Nm of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels. The M340i, however, which is sold in xDrive Touring form in the Philippines, now gets 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance, boosting its output to 391 horses (+4 hp) and 539 Nm of torque (+39 Nm). As usual, these engines are hooked up to an eight-speed automatic.

With the 2025 BMW 3 Series already revealed, it probably won’t be long before this model arrives in the Philippines. We anticipate a late 2024 or early 2025 arrival for the slightly refreshed 3 Series.
