The Porsche 911 Turbo is now fifty years old, having been originally revealed in 1974. This became an opportunity for Porsche to create a limited edition model that celebrates half a century of the 911 Turbo. If you’re looking for a supercar with genuine car collector status, the new Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is set to be a future classic.

Porsche has always been known to curate very tasteful finishes and graphics for its special edition cars, and the 911 Turbo 50 Years is no exception. The 911 Turbo has not yet received the 992.2 mid-cycle facelift, but the tasteful upgrades make this a very desirable car for collectors.

It begins with the decals that pay homage to the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo concept, which is the vehicle that inspired the first 911 Turbo (930 generation) the following year. Porsche also added Anthracite Grey details on the rear wing, lower rear fascia, mirror bases, and bumper intakes. Other cool details include the “1974-2024” lettering on the engine cover and the iconic “turbo” logo on the puddle lamps.

The 911 Turbo 50 Years is also the first 911 model to receive the “Turbonite” treatment. As part of Porsche’s new branding scheme, its Turbo-badged models will all feature the Turbonite finish, which is visible on the wheels, rear decklid, the Turbo 50 badging, and the Porsche crests dotted around the vehicle.
As for the interior, the upholstery draws inspiration from the 1970s Zeitgeist movement, which has been achieved through the MacKenzie tartan details on the seats and doors, while those Turbonite accents carry over to various parts of the interior as well. Finally, you can see the Turbo 50 badge on the illuminated door sills, the headrests, and the plaque that showcases the car’s build number. The Sport Chrono clock also features a custom face design.

But the full glory of this special edition model is realized when you select the Heritage Design package. This adds the Aventurine Green Metallic paint, along with a brilliant silver hood, and silk matte decals that you can fully or partially delete, depending on your preference. The Turbonite finish for the badges is swapped out for gold ones as well.
Topping it all off is a set of gorgeous Sport Classic wheels finished in white and silver to complete the car’s retro-inspired look. Oh, and if you take a look at those wheels, it features the original Porsche crest from 1964 as well. Lastly, the interior of the 911 Turbo 50 Years is also enhanced by extended leather upholstery, tartan accents, as well as green dials.
While the aesthetic retro upgrades are tasteful, the performance on offer is unchanged. However, that’s not exactly a bad thing if you’re using a 911 Turbo S as a base car since its 3.7-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder boxer engine produces 641 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. This is, of course, sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic. The optional sports exhaust is fitted as standard to this model, along with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adaptive sport suspension that lowers its ride height by 10 mm.

Only 1,974 units of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years will be made, and if you want yours, you can order one through its official Philippine retailer, PGA Cars. All units also come with a specially designed Porsche Design chronograph wristwatch with a black face and Turbonite accents, and like the car, only 1,974 pieces will be made.
