The Mercedes-Benz GLC has become a core product offering of the German luxury automaker as crossover SUV demand continued to grow. Two years ago, the second-generation GLC arrived in the Philippines in turbocharged gasoline-fed mild hybrid form, which is already a first step to electrifying its core product offering. Today, however, the German luxury automaker is taking its sustainable luxury ambitions up a notch with the new 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC plug-in hybrid.
The GLC plug-in hybrid, which comes with the GLC 350e designation, is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that’s integrated into its nine-speed automatic. Combined, its system output is a strong 313 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. Its lithium-ion battery, which at 31.2 kWh is pretty large, is good enough for a WLTP-rated range of 130 kilometers.
As for its design, it remains largely unchanged from the mild-hybrid GLC. Its only distinguishing exterior flourishes are the EQ Hybrid badges on the fenders and, of course, the GLC 350e tailgate emblem. It does get a different 19-inch wheel design, which in this case has a two-tone finish, while the exterior is adorned with full LED exterior lighting.
Moving inside, the overall design is likewise unchanged, though it’s not exactly a bad thing, as it remains
a luxurious interior. There’s a floating center stack that houses an 11.9-inch MBUX touchscreen infotainment system, which works in conjunction with the 12.3-inch fully-digital gauge cluster. You also get ARTICO synthetic leather upholstery, though the Burmester 3D Surround Sound System with 15 speakers from the mild-hybrid GLC 200 has been removed for the GLC 350e.

On the upside, you do get a suite of cameras surrounding the GLC plug-in hybrid, and this enables a feature called the Transparent Bonnet. This is enabled by a camera that lets you see through the car’s hood, and thus be confident on what kind of terrain or obstacle you are going over on rough terrain.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC plug-in hybrid is now in the Philippines for P4,890,000, about P300,00 less than the mild-hybrid GLC 200, thanks to Executive Order 62 exempting hybrids and plug-in hybrids from import duties.
