The upcoming 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is shaping up to be a very significant event for the automotive industry, as numerous brands are making headlines with the vehicles they’ve been teasing. One of those is Suzuki Philippines, which has now teased the arrival of the e Vitara.
Though the Japanese automaker did not explicitly announce the vehicle that they are revealing, there’s no denying that the teaser showcases the LED daytime running lights of the e Vitara.
Also, their latest press release reveals a booth with a vehicle that’s concealed by an LED board. The said LED board also contains the tagline “Come Alive” with the letter e stylized to match the e Vitara’s emblem. These are pretty much signs that the Suzuki e Vitara is coming, but whether this is a launch of a preview is still not yet known.
It is worth noting that the e Vitara is already indirectly available in the Philippines through Toyota with their Urban Cruiser EV. Yes, the Urban Cruiser EV is a rebadged version of the e Vitara. It would be interesting to see how Suzuki will position this vehicle, considering that Toyota brought in the version with the larger battery and thus, the longest range available globally for the Urban Cruiser EV.
Globally, the e Vitara comes with either a 49 kWh or 61 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery. With the base 49 kWh LFP battery, you get a front-wheel drive (FWD) motor that produces 142 hp and 190 Nm of torque, while the larger 61 kWh battery comes in either a higher-output FWD version with 172 horses, which is what the Urban Cruiser EV gets, or a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) version that has a total output of 181 horses and 300 Nm of torque.
As for range, the 49 kWh variant is rated to achieve up to 344 kilometers, while the 69 kWh battery is good for 395 kilometers with the AWD or 426 kilometers with the FWD version.
With the Suzuki e Vitara arriving in the Philippines soon, it will be interesting to see how this will be priced not just against its Toyota sibling, but also the long list of Chinese EV competitors. If you’re keen to visit the Suzuki booth, the brand is inviting interested customers and fans to the upcoming 2026 PIMS, which is happening from June 4 to 7 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
