Subaru PH To Unveil Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid On June 4 At 2026 PIMS

The new Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid is debuting at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show from June 4 to 7.

Subaru Philippines, through Motor Image Pilipinas, is gearing up for the upcoming 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) by teasing its upcoming electrified model. Say hello to the new Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer hybrid, which will be their second electrified model in the country.

However, unlike the Forester Hybrid, which already uses the Strong Hybrid 2.5-liter e-Boxer drivetrain, the new Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid still uses the previous 2.0-liter system. This has directly been confirmed by Subaru themselves through their latest press release, which states that it gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine and an electric motor that delivers a total system output og 156 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque.

Of course, in traditional Subaru fashion, this is hooked up to a Lineartronic CVT, and it drives all four wheels via the brand’s signature Symmetrical AWD system. We’ve driven this first-generation e-Boxer hybrid system in the previous-generation Forester wherein we found the system to do a good job of aiding and improving the 2.0-liter boxer engine’s responsiveness.

However, while this can run in pure electric for short distances, they are extremely short. The electric motor only added 17 horsepower to the system, which is only good enough for coasting or a short takeoff burst when coming from a standstill.

Nevertheless, Motor Image Pilipinas has revealed the full specs of the new Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid, so at this point, all we’re missing is the price tag. Design-wise, the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid will largely mirror the design of the other variants.

Due to its top trim positioning, this variant gets 18-inch wheels, full LED headlights and LED taillights, roof rails, plus leather upholstery with power adjustment for the driver’s seat. There’s also a sunroof, plus the signature Subaru Starlink infotainment with an 11.6-inch portrait touchscreen. This comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a wireless charging pad.

The Subaru EyeSight 4.0 suite of advanced driver-assistance systems are also standard, in which new for the Crosstrek lineup is the addition of Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS). This feature debuted in the Forester e-Boxer Hybrid, in which EDSS can automatically bring the vehicle to a complete stop if it detects a prolonged period without steering input, indicating a potential emergency.

Drop by the Subaru booth at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show form June 4 to 7, which will happen at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
