2027 Chery QEV Now In PH, Priced From P1.120M

The new 2027 Chery QEV has finally arrived in the Philippines with a price tag of P1,120,000, and up to 420 km of range.

The 2026 Philippine International Motor Show has witnessed the return of a quirky nameplate from Chery. A successor to the original QQ, the new 2027 Chery QEV grows up to become a true subcompact competitor, but with a pure electric drivetrain.

The Chery Q is called the QQ3 in China and in certain overseas markets, but in the Philippines, it will be called the QEV. This electric hatch has grown in size compared to the previous QQ, now competing squarely in the subcompact segment. It measures 4,195 mm long, 1,811 mm wide, and 1,573 mm tall, but thanks to the bespoke electric vehicle (EV) architecture, it has an extraordinarily long 2,700 mm wheelbase. The bespoke EV platform that Chery uses for the Q is the T12 platform. Since it’s designed solely for EVs, the Chery Q has a large 70-liter front trunk, a 375-liter rear cargo area, and plenty of passenger space.

From the outside, the 2027 Chery QEV has an upright and rugged stance, even though this is more of a road-biased hatch. Rounded, rectangular LED headlights and taillights are fitted as standard, while a choice of 16 or optional 17-inch geometric alloy wheels gives this electric hatch a unique stance.

As for the interior, the 2027 Chery QEV follows a similar template that’s seen with other Chinese EVs, namely an expansive and modern dash design that’s filled with plenty of interesting detailing, along with a large central touchscreen. Leatherette upholstery comes as standard, while a slick and cutting-edge software experience is what dominates the QEV’s interior. That’s thanks to the use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip with 105K DMIPS of computing power. Chery also gave the QEV vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, which means you can use this electric hatch to power appliances or even your home during a power outage.

The 2027 Chery QEV offers a range of 420 kilometers through a 41.28 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery. The battery can be charged via AC at up to 6.6 kW, while DC fast charging speeds have not yet been revealed, except for the part that it can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in 16.5 minutes. Speaking of charging, the QEV utilizes a GB/T port instead of the more ubiquitous Type 2/CCS2.

Now, this is where things continue to get interesting. The Chery QEV is actually a rear-wheel drive (RWD) electric hatch, which should give this vehicle excellent driving dynamics. The single electric motor produces 129 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque. Also, the QEV gets fully-independent suspension–MacPherson struts up front and multi-link at the rear. All of its Japanese gas and hybrid competitors still use a torsion beam rear suspension.

Pricing for the 2027 Chery QEV starts at P1,120,000, which comes with a free portable charger. Would you consider the Chery QEV over the GAC Aion UT, Geely EX2, or the BYD Dolphin?
